Question about Guages..

I am getting all of my homework done and getting a rough mod list done before i get my JDM FD3S ... As far as asthetics goes, i like the clean , smooth , low profile, half stock look to my cars. I want all of the important gauges, but i dont want the stock guages that i dont need (i think it looks kind of useless), and i also dont want 20 gauges scattered all over my dash. So i figure that if i can take out the stock temperature and oil pressure gauges and replace them with accurate aftermarket ones i can save having to find a spot for two more guages.

So my question.... Were can i find gauges that will fit these holes?

Also, I want to use metric units for everything!!!

Do any of you guys know of gauges that fit my criteria? Thanks

-Ben

Lots of gauges will fit in there, most won't match the other stock gauges.
In case of the water temp gauge you can modify it to be more accurate and linear.
The oil pressure gauge seems accurate enough with a good sender unit.

Atihn has with Defi gauges

Max Cooper with SPA dual digital gauges.

Maxpesce with Autometer gauges.

I'd go with a Omori Multicolor gauge as they can be changed to any color, match the stock font of the gauge and have peak and warning features.

i'm planning on switching out those two gauges as well, and i do believe i've seen someone on the boards successfully switch them out with Defi gauges. there are a couple other places to stash your gauges. if you have room where the stereo's head unit is, you might be able to fit a pair there, and if you want to hide some, you can mount a few in your glove box. another option is to get a STACK or Defi digital display. the guy that co-owns Brainchild Customs (click my sig) has a STACK in his car and it's badass.

That's pretty cool, i've seen the autometer gauges done before. The Defi's look really nice, i know the D series matches pretty well; if you can find some.

Another of the Omori

The new Nexus Autometer gauges can change through a selection of certain colors and the face turns red when the warning point is hit.

I've never heard of anyone having a problem find metric gauges. :lol
Usually it's the other way around. Figure out what kind of gauges you want to go with first.

Here's some Defi metric and standard gauges.

I'm sure Jason at the RX-7 store could get you anything you want. Shoot him a PM.

Glassman, what happened to your gauge panel? I see you eliminated the cigarette lighter but the plastic looks like crap. If you have the time and want it fixed, let me know. You will have to paint it over though.
