I dont understand why every one does the fan modd, you have too wait 2 min before fans turn on? that might be too long of a wait if youre motor is running hot.Forget the fan modd get a Miata thermoswitch turns fans on at 207F off at 194F you dont have to do anything and this is way cooler than stock 230F turn on temp this will help youre motor live longer.I also wired a fog light switch to run fans instantly when I want.

If you do the fan mod, by connecting lose
ground wire next to the ECU, as soon
as you switch it, it turns on.. and IF you leave
it on for 2 minutes before Shut down, the
fans will stay on for additional 10 minutes.

IMO Fan mod is very beneficial, especially if you have
a Water Temp gauge.

For some FD's, unless coolant is above 221F, there will be a 2 minute delay before fans come on. In all cases, you do get the very nice 10 minute fan run aft shutdown, per the cirian link noted.

For those with a 2 minute delay that want instant on fans, do the 'voodoo' mod noted at same site.
