Question

I was wondering if the item circled in red would have an effect on how the motor runs if it is removed? My car seems to be missing this piece and so if i need this where can i get a replacement.

Thanks

i'd have to take a look at it on an UIM but if i remember it is a pull down to limit the secondary plates on a cold engine. no it shouldn't affect idle quality unless somehow the secondary throttle plates are being held open by its removal somehow.

It is a damper to stop the throttle from slamming shut too quickly on deceleration. Not having one could cause stalling issues when coming to a stop. You can buy one at the Mazda dealer.
