What to do with this hose? PIX

This hose that went to the airbox has been removed along with the airbox for a new set of intakes. We had the end capped off, but today it must have blown out. now it is open to the atmosphere and gives a low rumble under rev. What does this line do and how should we handle it now that the airbox is gone? Should there have been enough pressure to blow it off? The cap had holes ddrilled in it (from Fighter's Garage).

thanks for any help.

It's the return for your smog air pump, you can leave it open, but i would put a small filter on it so that no dirt goes down inside of it.

Search on a post from Dale Clark with pics. I believe when that hose isn't routed to the air box, it makes a 'moo' sound. Or at least that is how it was described on some threads on here. Dale had a cheap easy 'fix'.
