Q's about vac system

The search feature won't work (assume b/c moved) but i have questions on vacuum lines.

Double throttle- Closes under vac from what i can tell so i just ran to a vac scource on UIM (assumed it was like the extra butterflies in the TII)

The only remaining vac lines that are critical that i can think of is

FPR
BOV
WG
Brake booster
pressure senor

I plan on capp'n the rest and removing everything that not essential to make my car run. I'll be throwing codes like mad right away until my PFC but would this work?

probably not! You'll throw codes like you stated and the ECU probably won't work right. I've seen tons of these questions and there is to much to write. I know that some get resistors and put them in place of the relays/solenoids. Don't know the size. I would say 2 things.....1) Wait till the search feature works and try again......2) wait till you get the new ECU and do it correctly the first time. It's usually easier.

Basically do what i did to my TII.

Have like 5 vac lines and removed half the engine. Try to get down to the basics for reliability and ease of work. I see no reason it would need all those vac/solinoids/check valves.

i guess i'll find out how little i can have when i put the engine back together

The FD3S requires those vacuum lines and solenoids for the control system to work properly. The only time you plug the vacuum lines is if you remove a particular system a la vacuum simplification. The vacuum simplification requires removal of the emissions/EGR stuff. IMHO, if you start plugging vacuum lines without knowing what they're supposed to do, you're asking for a bigger problem. Refer to your shop manual and study the vacuum line diagrams, and control system schematics to see what you're doing.

I agree with SleepR1... you don't want to just take them off.. Make sure you do it right.. get block off plates, remove emission, etc...

doing that.

I make my own block offs. i do have a pretty solid understanding of what they do. 90% is just like a TII. I'm doing things correctly.

btw i have spent many hours look'n at the seq, non-seq, and emission removal with seq vac diagrams. I didnt' just start tearing in.
