Talking Puttin' Porsches in their place: Scrubby & Goodfellas hit NJMSP for a day of racin'

Mods, don't worry--- this will eventually get moved to the visual section but for now it stays here b/c it's third gen related

Recently Dan and I went to a track day at NJ Motorsports Park down in south jersey..... had a very very good time in amazing weather. There was a good assortment of cars and bikes (the bikes had their own run group): Ford GT, Audi R8, a few Mustang GT500s, Nissan GTR & z32 300zx, a badass aftermarket-twin turbo supra, many different Porsches and BMWs, some interesting kit cars as well--- AC Cobra, Superperformance Coupe, an all-aluminum roadster etc.

I don't have time for a play by play right now, but enjoy the pics---- Scrub has many better ones he'll be posting later

PS: sorry for the crappy quality of the pics, the forum really kills the resolution when they're uploaded. If anyone wants high quality pics, let me know!

A few snaps of what tracking does to your rubber and your rollers

Scrubz likes to fly in B2 Bomber stealth mode, so here are a few quick shots of his 'office' and of his co-pilot

Those cars are too nice for track work. I always had a track beater bike and kept the nice one in the garage.

Our cars were built to see the race track, we are just enjoying them I'll have some pics and video posted later today hopefully. There were a ton of very quick older porsche cars, they got the good ol' point by as soon as I saw them approaching haha.

Glad to see you guys track these cars as they were intended. . Nothing like having a blown up 93 Mazda as a garage queen.

In all seriousness, did you guys get any good runs with the R8 or GTR? The only time I've personally seen a nicely modded Fd on track with a GTR it was raining so it wasnt a fair comparison.

As nice as the GTR looked, I don't think the owner really knew the limits of the car or how to drive it. I was interested to see how our cars held up against a GTR, but no dice this event. The R8 was also not very quick on the track, I don't think it was being driven very hard....The owner of the R8 had a few Ducati's and helped organize the event. There was also a 24 hours of lemons car on track with us Stay tuned for pics and a little video of my last session. I pushed the car harder in the morning sessions then took it a bit easier in the afternoon....My dumped wastegate was getting annoying, I really need a plumbed back setup.

-Dan

This is the proper attire for cycling everyone A little preview

A quick video I threw together of my last session. I only taped the last session. I'll throw up a few quicker laps tomorrow. Sorry for the annoying audio buzz. The contour HD camera has a horrible microphone.

HP is 420 when I'm at 15lbs...I wasn't going full throttle on that straight... I don't like to blast the other cars with my dumped gates. Usually I'll get to 140+, that lap was around 120

Nice video. Track looks really nice. That's pretty fast, I never realized you can get up to speeds like 140 on that track.

What was your quickest lap time of the day and who had the faster lap time, you or Rich?

Thanks,

Anthony

No one put up a fight in that vid - definitely would be interesting to see a Z06 or GT-R run, or at least see the relative lap times
