Purge fuel lines?
Purge fuel lines?
My car has sat for about 1.5yrs. I emptied the tank and changed the fuel filter. The fuel I did remove smelled fine and wasn't discoloured, should it be fine to start up with what little is remaining or play it safe and purge?
If you recommend purging, how do you go about it? I couldn't find any tutorials.

1.5 years isn't too long all things considered. I'd put some fresh gas in the tank to dilute it and see what you get.
You can tell old gas by the smell, if it smells fine you'll be OK.
There is a drain plug at the bottom of the tank, though, to get old funky gas out FYI.

When it sat for that time, was the tank filled half way or more ? These fuel tanks develop rust internally so taking a peek inside the tank by a quick fuel pump cover lift could yield some rust sediment surprises. Even if you drain the gas and is doesn't show initially. Would be worth a look at the fuel pump sock filter as well. Good call on a new fuel filter, bet that was a fun swap

The tank was full the whole time, so many trips to the dump
I'm not even going to joke about the filter, it was not fun. Everything went relatively smooth being the first time doing it, except sliding off the clamp on the short metal line on the filter, I thought it was going to be the end of me. Easily added an hour to the 2hrs it took.
The car started right up btw. <3
