VA Removing old gas

Hi folks!

I'm getting a 79 "barn find" and want to know the best way to drain the old gas from the tank. Is there an easy way to do that without taking the tank out? Can I siphon it off easily?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, If it were me, I would siphon all I could out of the tank, then I would pull the tank and clean the rest of the sediment out with a hose . If it has sick sweet smell to it, the gas has turned to lacquer. I had a 1978 280z that sat for years and had bad gas, The smell of the fuel almost made me puke!!! Put 5 gallons in that baby with some carburetor/fuel treatment, change the fuel filter. and FIRE THAT BABY UP!!!!! (If the fuel smells like gas you might not have to pull the tank???)
