"While I'm in there" is ALWAYS a slippery slope!

With that said, I only want to do this project once. So if there are other worthwhile PM type repairs or upgrades while it's all apart, I'd rather knock them out now. Ultimately I'm trying to make this thing as bulletproof as possible.

IIRC you should get BOTH fans with AC on.

New plugs and particularly plug wires would be easier with the UIM off.
Heater hose?

Correct, and despite being ugly both fans engage with the A/C on. Plugs and wires are new so that's one less thing to worry about.

I think the fans are supposed to turn on both regardless of what is activating it. if only 1 fan is turning. replace it

also since your down there. pull the turbos and replace the gaskets and coolant hoses
