PS pressure question

Just wondering how much pressure does the Power steering system put out, reason I am asking is I am planning to re do my PS system using a trans cooler and wondering if a barb fitting and hose clamp is good enough to withstand the pressure of the system.

I have the gotham racing delete kit on the rack and that is where I will be attaching it.

Looking it up in an FC FSM shows a pressure of over 1100psi, so no to barb fittings.

The high pressure side in power steering systems is usually 1000psi +. Barb fittings will only work on the low pressure or return side.

Okay, so the low pressure side is where the cooling loop is correct...

Yep, stock the cooling is done on the low pressure side. Mazda just used rubber hose and hose clamps, so it's reasonable pressure in there.

I just used some tranny oil hose from Napa and some hose clamps. Been holding up well.
