Talking Proud to be a member of an elite group

[Hey everybody I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member of the rx7 forum. I just bought a 93 RX-7 a week ago and all I can say is I've never had so much fun in a car in my entire life (18 years). I can see why RX-7s are the epitome of a sports car.

Buying a $10k - $20k car (or having it bought for you) hardly makes you part of an elite group.

I'd say that Astronauts are part of an elite group, but we're not (unless someone here is an Astronaut)

Either way, congrats on your new car. Take care of it, drive slowly on anything other then a track and for the love of god don't wreck it.

not to sound like an *** or anything but i'm only a year older than him, 19, and i bought my 93 RX7 all on my own. so please dont just assume that his parents bought it for him, some of us youngsters work real hard for things so give us a lil credit.

I'm 18 and paid for my car 100%, but the fact remains that the majority of young sports (or even sporty) car owners didn't buy them with their own money and are generally irresponsbile with that. That's why our insurance rates are so astronomically high.

Either way, welcome to the forum

Just for your info I paid for it myself and the insurance is killing me, but its so well worth it. I didn't want to owe anyone anything when I got my car so I bought it with my own money. And its an elite group because of the rotary engine. "Aint nothin' better than the seven" ; )

Hey man, Congrats on the car and nomatter what anyone tells you dont let it get you discouraged. I bought my first rx7 when I was 15 with my own money, it was wrecked.. rebuilt it, sold it and got even better one.. there is no feeling like paying for your own car..

I'm just wondering why you needed five different rx7s in the five years you are able to drive? What happened to the first four? Did you just want to sell them or did they get stolen or wrecked or what?
