Protech Performance's RX-7

Well, since the www.texasracingscene.com guys decided I was an idiot, please tell me you all think that this is WAY overpriced:

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...ar=1993&color=

There was one on Ebay with almost the same specs going for 28k, and it only had a few hundred miles on a rebuilt engine.

That *is* a nice car, but I agree, that's quite a bit too high, considering what you could do with 42 grand minues the $12-14K you'd pay for a stocker.

$30-35K in total builds you a *really* nice vehicle.

Not worth it, I bought my Seven off of a family that had two of them. One was a 93' R1 with 500RWHP and the other one was a 94' Touring AT with minor modifications. Both of them were low mileage. The R1 was $20K if I remember correctly and mine was $11K.

ehh i would never buy it..why would any 1 want a car that is already done? to me i like my cars to look how i want them too..i want my engine to have what i want in it..and so on...
plus trying to just jump in and maintain a car with that much power is just dumb...u dont know what was done and the lil things that it might take to make the car run right...to me when i build a motor i grow with the mods...after putting it in you learn about it and how to use it better..this is alot of stuff to learn....unless u already know the management system thats in it

I've seen this car many times. It's very nice ... it's very well put-together. But, it's more of a show car in my book. Like said earlier, it's already done. There's not much else that you can do to this car without MAJOR changes. If all you're looking for is a 'pretty' car that has some ***** to back it up, then I don't think the asking price is unreasonable. Of course, you'd basically be paying the equivalent of new parts on a setup that is essentially used. Somebody will fork over that kind of cash for this car. But, for $42K, I could make a monster of a car .... sans all the rice factor. Can you say LS6?

Cars like that are only worth what people pay for them. They aren't "worth" anything on any market you can gauge. So why bother asking?

Most of the people of that forum are idiots. I wonder how many browsers there are over the age of 17 .... I could think of a few things more worthwhile than spending time on that forum ... like taking a dump, masturbating, uh .... just to name a couple.

You could buy a really nice 3rd gen in great cosmetic with a blown up motor for about $8K then ship it off to MVA motorsports and get a turnkey 3 rotor that is gauranteed to put down 650 on the dyno at a low boost of like 15psi for another $35K which whould totaly $43K. Also, they truely back up thier claim cause if it doesnt make the 650rwhp then you drive off with it for FREE!!!!

Course you wont get the fly wheels an body kit haha

People should enjoy doing the mods themselves. I like picking out everything for the car, I wouldn't ever buy a car someone has already modded out.

i'd like to see a dyno for the "550 whp" with the "big turbo". i think if some one is trying to sell their car, they should at least put a short list of the main mods on the car.

The car apparently has refused to go up against some other RX-7's, one pushing almost 400hp on the stock twins.

Protech's dyno guy is an awesome tuner though. How about someone call and get more info? I'm too lazy...:P

Dude **** Texas Racing Scene. All they do is talk major **** to anyone that isn't in their 5 people group. You will never learn anything off that forum, it's just a flame forum.

That car is over priced a tad. But it has to be one of the best FD's I have ever seen.

Hard to make an argument for an FD that so expensive. Its too nice to race. Whovever said "show car" said it all.

IMO, someone will pay $35k for it + or -. Just hope the owner is not in a hurry to sell it.
