Project Update #6, car is painted

I posted up a few pics of it painted. It isn't completely put back together so don't comment on the front bumper fit yet.

Kind of off topic but what do you do for a living Jeff? Are you a body shop technician or something along those lines?

Jeff,

Have any good neighbor stories?

I just got into a huge argument with mine a couple of hours ago while trying to diagnose a surging issue.

I don't have any good neighbor stories. About 50% of my neighbors are retired, but they don't complain at all. Instead they come over and BS while I'm working. I strongly discourage any loud cars and flybye drives with small pieces of lead travelling at high velocity, j/k. Seriously though I try to keep the crap in the garage (and it is FULL right now) and the noise down for them.

One of the other red FDs is my 93 R1 I've had since 1998. The other is a parts car, the front is wiped out, not fixable. It will donate parts to my CYM project that will get under way in a week or two.

I'm going to sell my VR R1 and keep the CYM.

Jeff,

On the CYM, that looks like the typical nasty fluxcore weld gone bad. When you work on body panels like that, I'm assuming that you either MIG or braze that stuff back together?

The red car is looking good!
