What's up with the forum? The original message isn't here?

Anyway if you look really closely there are a couple pieces of trim not on the car yet. They will be installed as soon as the clips come in from the dealer.

Oh, btw it is for sale, $15K.

Thanks.

For the curious that took 45 days. A craftsman did the bodywork, I did the reassembly.

Is it just me or is the weather stripping around both doors missing? The stuff on the doors looks like it's there, but the stuff on the body is missing. Are these the couple pieces of trim you speak of?

Yeah the two pieces of trim around the door top and the driverside beltline molding at the base of the window.

Or at least from bad bodywork. It wasn't totalled.

Dude, you want to protect that paint?

1) I hope there is at least 2 layers of clearcoat on it.
2) In any case, get at least 3 coats of wax on it, over the next 3 weekends.

Jeff,

Looks great! You are the master. I'll give you a call when mine's done and we can go play!

I finally got everything in and just sent off some additional pieces for polishing before final assembly.

Again, Great job.

1. It has 2-3 coats of clear I've been told.

2. Actually I've been told NOT to wax a fresh paint job for a few months. The fresh paint continues to outgas solvents for quite a while, if you wax it the solvents will be sealed in. Not good for the paint. No new cars are waxed at the factory, it usually takes at least 1-2 months before a customer get the car home anyway.

$2900 parts and labor? I assume your taking the front of the car down to nothing?

I think the frame rails list for about $500 each. The piece around the headlight is about $180/ea and the core support assembly is about $100 or so.

The frame rails are big and heavy, the rest of the parts are very light and flimsy, you could squash them with your foot.
