I think the stock wastegate compltely open will still give you around 7or 8 psi,

I just installed mine recently.
Turning the power off will result in 7 psi on our cars.
I havent really played with mine much, as I havent had time, but I believe i have my low boost setting at 10% and the gain at 30% (maybe?). I've got the warning set to .72 (again, I think).
I dont know when I will get to "tune" it as my work schedule has picked up recently.

Also, this is only on an pettit intake, downpipe, and RB catback. I was to worried about creep/spike to put on the midpipe.

What do you consider overboosting? Not getting to 5psi, because you cant on a stock wastegate.

I have this unit as well.Set the boost at 26 or 27 % if its in psi mode mind you. The set the gain at the same value and the set gain at 28.There you go.Once youre done change the unit from psi to kpa.If you dont know how to do that refer to the manual.

You running sequential? Are you boosting 15 or spiking 15? Your gain effects it quite a bit.

Have you set your gain at near minimum and see what happens? Have you shut it off all together and run it. Maybe its not the profec.

Yes, try turning the unit off. If your boost guage reads 7 psi (or .7 bar or somewhere around there i believe) then you need to fine tune your unit more.

Where did you hook the line that carrys the pressure to the unit? are you sure its not kinked or anything?

well there you go bro.its not the unit.Could it be a wastegate sticking closed therefore not bleeding off boost?

Check your actuator, mine was siezed, causing my secondary not to come on and thus I went non-seq. Check yours it may have the same problem. Or check the Vac lines leading to it etc.

i am also running on sequential, and having the same problem. i noticed a big spike problem when i put in the mid pipe. using the FC to control boost i was unable to keep it to .8 bar and now with a manual boost controler i am unable to keep it to .8, i boost to 1.01ish bar reguardless. with non -sequential and a cat i boosted to .95-.99 bar. i have yet to find the problem, i was running sequential with a cat and held a good .86 bar. could the waste gate not be big enough to keep the boost at the level we are looking for?

sounds like your wastegate needs to be ported. it can't vent fast enough so you're spiking. you guys are walking on thin ice.

boosting less w/ a cat is due to back pressure ,possible that the cat is filthy. now another note. if you are running non seq. turbos a second boost controller might be an option. ex. an inexpensive turboxs or something "homemade" they work. http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_boost.html
use the same boostgauge to set them one at a time and set one and forget it.
.....it might solve your overboost issue
I too need to learn this profecb spec2 (had the spec one and im waitingto install the 2)

would switching back from non-seq to sequential help this at all? i have traction problems as it is with this set up and i know going back to sequetial will bring more low end power back. more worried about the a boost spike killing my motor then traction right now so i keep my foot well out of the pedal.

did you have the issue b4?? (no) so switching back would solve it but not help.
i think you should try the dual boost controller setup. I think its 18 dollars and you only need one considering you have the profec. Also do you get it w/ the profecb turned off?
