AL Prof exhaust

Anyone heard of it? Snagged one up offline since I had a bov of theirs at one point on my FC and liked the quality. I havent heard or seen anything of it on here before and was wondering. Pics can be available upon request. Listened to a few clips on youtube with different cars but couldn't find anything with rotaries much less FD's. Anyone? Info? thanks!!

It's a good JDM exhaust, Sheep Dog/Prof has been around for some time. With the oval can design it should be pretty mellow.

Dale - Thanks for the input! I recall reading they had been around for some time and made quality parts but this is the first direct sheep dog/prof catback system I've seen for the FD. I'm happy with it so far, it was the exact design I was looking for.

I actually JUST got this in today from cali. My midpipe has a cracked weld that I need to patch up but after that I plan on getting this thing under the car by the weekend. Work schedule permitting :P

Update

Exhaust is hung and pics are to come but I had a delay as of last night. My midpipe decided to not agree to being installed and let me know by sending me to the ER. I now have 3 stitches over my right eye just to the side of my eye brow, gg. Car is still in the air and I'll post pics of everything soon enough. I will try to get a sound clip at some point also for those inquiring. Thanks all for being patient.

Mind me asking how much this catback cost you?

Gilgamesh - I need to take a trip up that way some time, I have a sister and brother in-law that live up there.

goalguy - I picked it up for under $400 shipped. Brand new in box and it sounds amazing cruising at ~60.

As promised! hung exhaust
I tried getting a sound clip but the quality is not exactly professional and all you can hear is wind noise. I may employ a friend of mine to take a better video but as per requested, here it is on the car...

Hope you all enjoy

Those wheels actually came off of my turbo 2. I picked them up specifically for it because of the offsets and one day after I got the FD I decided to test fit them. As it turns out they fit pretty well and look pretty decent too.

17x8 +20 fronts
17x9 +15 rears

They are Axis Banzai wheels (again, they were intended for the turbo 2.)]

The car is on Stance GR+ coilovers for suspension

Upon further thought I could be just backwards with the offsets...but you get the idea.

Very close, its 4.5". I even had to get another look with a ruler and as for a sound clip I have an idea of how to get one. Just have to get it set up first.

If its possible at all can you make a video for sound of this thing at idle and while rev'ing it a little. I wonder how this sounds compared to a racing beat type exhaust, since they look somewhat similar.

Exhaust looks good, is the tip supposed to be that far out of the bumper? Sound clip would be nice.

I was thinking the same thing but there really isnt any way it could be tucked in any further. Cold start it seems a bit loud but once it warms up the tone really sings a nice mellow cruise/aggressive acceleration note. Going to try and get a video up tomorrow sometime of idle/mid level rpm revs/fly by etc etc. Thanks everyone for the kind words I rarely post on here and choose to lurk instead so its nice to read the comments.

Idle/rev

fly by

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY2YcGz7N5M

I know these are super low quality but neither of us have anything that is capable of recording anything better

Also, the second video towards the end is a bit misleading for a moment because of the motorcycle but it's kind of funny

Hope this gives an idea to those wondering

Reminds me of the greddy sp2 I ran on my old FD. I liked that exhaust. What is the piping diameter on the prof piece?

Lol Damn its too quiet.

Like my friend used to say, "it sounds like a vacuum". He said that when talking about stock cars when they would go wot etc.

Exhaust is nice and quiet at idle but needs more sound upon movement. Unless you weren't getting on it really or this exhaust is really that quiet.

I was cruising around 60 or so turning about 2500~3000rpm. Its super quiet on the highway but idle is another story. The lower gears for whatever reason let it sing.
