Problems putting my FD together/ suitcase

I started this car sometime ago, I would say when I join the board. But its not my first FD. But it's the first time I've had this problem. I had a red FD touring, nice rolling shell but missing a left door. All it needed was a motor/trans and interior.
So I aquired a 93 CYM R1 that appeared to be in a rollover accident. When i say rollover, it looked like he was traveling very fast and lost it. Well this R1 had a clean motor and trans still intact untouched by water and dirt. It had the silicon hose job done already (the rat nest) and all the seals around everything looked fresh and upgraded. Anyways, I transfer all the parts from the yellow FD to the red FD. Only thing I didn't use from the yellow FD is the heater core and suitcases. They were broken up and bent. So I kept with the red FD's suitcases. Well I was at the point of hooking up the a/c aluminum lines into the suitcase on the passenger side firewall. It didn't match. To make it clear the suitcase I'm talking about is the one behing the glove box with the core lines shooting out into the firewall. Is there a difference between the r1 and touring edition when it came down to this part ?? Dealer didn't help me much, they yapped about is it japanese or U.S.. I even gave 'em VIN #'s. BTW the dealer wanted $2500 if it was the JAP type. Useful reply's would be much appreciated. I hope my story makes sense, I read it over and it's not really organized. =P

The "suitcase" is the evaporator for the AC. There were 2 AC systems - a system that was installed in Japan that seems to have only been on the Touring models, and a system installed at port in the US by MANA in the base/R models. The MANA system is FAR cheaper than the Japan system.

Most AC parts can be found used relatively cheaply, however. Many people remove their AC systems to save weight. If all the other components are good and you're just missing the evaporator from the system, see if you can find a good used one.

I thought of this idea in my sleep, plz let me know if it would work or not. Instead of changing/ the R1 suitcase/evaporator what if I just changed the a/c line that appears to be to big ??
Would that cause any compression problems ?? Or would it just work ?? Most of you probablly say go for it and wait for me to make new post about how my car made a loud POP on the freeway or somethin. =P
