problems with the gas door lid lock

Has anyone had problems with the pin that keeps the gas door locked sticking to where it doesn't pop back out to keep the gas door locked? Is there an easy way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

i have the same problem sometimes...so when i need to get gas...instead of pushing the latch lever all the way down...i easily push it down just enough to get the gas door open....try it and see if it works...

I tried wd40 and pb blaster, but the pin is plastic...so I don't think it works. I have graphite powder but its damn near impossible to spray it in the tight *** spot where the pin sits.

I have the same problem.
I haven't found a fix for it yet, I just use a key to pull it back out

Don't have the part number. You are going to have to take some of the interior apart, Mainly the driver's side of the trunk. The same cable also opens the trunk.

Doing a combination of these help the pin pop out. Temporary fix until I by the new one.

My plastic pin is completely broken off so the door never stays shut. I ordered the new cable assembly from Malloy on Monday.

Hmm...I'm going to have to try this. The pin does look a bit off center. Thanks for the suggestion.
