Problems with eBay polished intake pipes!

Hey guys, just a follow up on my intake that I put together...

I ordered the eBay polished pipes for like $60 and installed them with K&N filters.

The pipes are great, but I keep having the blue silicone couplings split due to high temps. I have already gone through two of them...

I just ordered two NICE red silicone reinforced couplings from Extreme Motorsports for $6.50 each.

Here is a pic of the intake before I installed it:

And heres a pic of the silicone hose I just bought to replace the shitty eBay silicone couplings:

Pretty much, if you buy the eBay kit, dont expect to use the silicone couplings!

I have those same ebay pipes and haven't had any problems with the couplers yet. They do look pretty crappy though. Thanks for the link to the other hose seller.

Not to be a killjoy or anything, but I'd be leary of a silicon coupler that costs $6.50. High grade stuff like Samco (which will outlast the car) is like $12-15 a coupler at cost. I say this only because our cars put out intense heat, and you really want only the best. The last thing you need is something melting/splitting. Though I am surprised to hear of splitting on intake couplers considering the stock rubber ones last a fair amount of time before crapping out.
