Problem above 4k rpm

So I finally finished putting my car together and took it out today. I can not get it to rev past about 3500 or 4000 rpm's. It falls on its face at that point and dies out. Does this mean I need to adjust my throttle position sensor? I have found articles on that but haven't tried it yet.

The car is completely stock from what I've seen, I just finished having the injectors cleaned/calib/balanced and redoing the vac hoses. I did have to replace a couple connectors when I was working on the car. One was the coolant sensor on the 2nd fuel rail and the other connector was for the something under the UIM.. can't find it on the diagrams atm.

Any light you guys could shed on the subject would be great.

See if the car is pulling any error codes, another thing it might be is that its in limp home mode. Do a search if you dont know how to pull the codes or how to take it out of limp mode.

Ok I'll search the error code list. Would a deployed airbag cause it to enter limp mode?

I have the same problem, does it seem like your motor is hitting a brick wall quadulus? Also, does it go over if you accel slow? And no, i'm not getting this from boost spikes.

Check the vacuum hose to the MAP sensor, this could cause your problem, though it usually results in a lumpy idle also.

Definately a brick wall. I can't get it to go past even if i ease into it. I already checked for loose hoses etc... the car runs great otherwise. Smooth idle, no problems with hot starting or anything weird. It's gotta have something to do with that airbag.. the airbag light blinks and the check engine light is on also. I'll check the codes tomorrow night.

Error code 16, from the http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/engine_codes.html site that says: EGR valve (California only). This car did come from CA but now resides in MN. It looks to me like the EGR valve is a real PITA to get to. Will I have to remove the turbos/y pipe etc? Or is there some magic wand I can use to take care of my brick wall at 4000rpm problem?
