Price check!!

Ok, well I managed to run across a woman selling a 93 FD (touring), manual, completely stock with 40k miles, for 12,000 dollars. I'm going to check out the actual condition of the car tomorrow, but from what she's told me in email correspondence, the car's in great shape (plus she has all maintanence records).

Now I've been browsing around on the forums for a while, trying to get a good understanding of whats a 'good deal'. I think this might be one Does 12k sound like a solid price? Or should I wait for something else to come along...

ps: it's red :>

buyer beware always, just because its a "lady" doesnt mean you would think thats its been babied only on the weekend. 12 is a good price if you take the time to make sure its worth the money. meaning that you have a coolant pressure check, vaccumn check, boost check, and compression check. do a search for buying this car for alot of pitfalls.

Already a step ahead of you on the 'list of thing's to look for': http://rx7.voodoobox.net/infofaq/bgu...e3g.html#Links. My friend's going with me and he's bring a spare boost gauge off his supra, so we'll at least be able to do a boost check. She's meeting me at a chruch tomorrow, which means she'll be driving the car there...so I won't be able to do a coolant check But I'll ask to have the mazda dealership run a compression check.

My main concern at this point was the price, considering I'm meeting her tomorrow...

There's an ad i saw and someone is selling their RX7 for 17,000. The ad goes something like this MAZDA RX-7 1994 6,000 mi, Must Sell, Silver, Coupe, Manual - 5, 2 WD, rotary Cyl., $17,000 twin turbo, 6k on new motor lots of upgrades, just paid tags and got smogged. Does anybody think this is a good deal. Or should the car be set at a lower price?

These cars are only worth what you to pay for them. Its not like they are an investment.

I would also have one of the guys here do a car fax for you. Its too easy to get a new ECU with low miles on the clock.

The first car sounds like a great deal if it's in decent exterior/interior condition. Put the money saved toward reliability mods and a future rebuild tho.

The hijacker's car could be anything - notice they say 6k on a new motor, and the total mileage at 6k. So the condition and chassis mileage could be anything.
