Pressure regulator solenoid removal

HI guys i understand what the pressure regualtor solenoid does (more fuel on hot start to stop vapour lock ect ect),, ive noticed lots of people have removed this solenoid and piped the pressure regulator straight to the lower manifold for simplicity reasons. Can any of you guys comment on this modification, for those that have done this , does the motor still run fine ,, what are hot starts like ect. just some feed back,, thanks?
