Pressure chamber & Vacuum chamber

I was wondering what will happen if you removed the pressure (boost) chamber that is located on the top of the engine, next to intake plantum. Same goes with the vacuum chamber at the front of the engine below the oil filler neck. Will there be any hesitation, or are they used to mufle the sounds.

Your turbos won't function properly. It has nothing to do with sound.

The turbo door actuators have a certain volume, and if you remove the pressure and vacuum chambers there won't be enough stored vacuum or pressure in the system to operate them. At least, they won't operate as rapidly.

Yep. They are key parts of the turbo control system. Leave 'em there or have a slow car .

Or remove them and go Non-sequential which is the best thing that can happen to the FD turbo system IMO,... Well next to a big fatty single turbo

i get 10 PSI by 4k rpm. 12 would probaly be the same with aa ported engine. maybe just a tad higher. BUT the pull and consistency of it is great. And imo: it makes the car much more driveable around town.. your not always up someones tail whenevere you touch the gas.

As far a turbo life, That is not tooo dependent on the way the turbos are being run. And 12 is not that hard but it will work them more. How many miles are on your engine and turbos?

Do you know about the Raleigh meets? Check out the SE forum about the saturday meets They are a great group of guys/girls

Yeah I have met with the raleigh people once, My motor has about 30,000 miles on it and i have already rebuilt my turbos once. Right know, im replacing the front cover gasket and seal, oilpan gasket, oil metering pump seal, ss oilmetering pump lines, water pump to engine gasket, engine mounts, and i might put some under drive pulleys on.
