Hey, newby question about the pressure chamber. that's where the two hoses go in on the right side right? well if you're facing the front of the car, hose 2 with the plastic thing? looks like some sort of restrictor? what is that for? mine broke off tonight somehow while i was replacing the plugs and wires. I think it's causing my check engine light to come on. any ideas? where should i get a new one of the plastic things?

 

That's a one-way check valve. It makes sure the tank always has pressure - if it's broken or bad, the pressure leaks out, and you don't have that air pressure to run the turbo control system, in a nutshell.

New ones from Mazda are around $26. Or, you can click on the link in my sig below for Viton replacements...

Anyhow, a bad check valve will cause a ton of problems, but not a check engine light. You'll need to pull the engine codes and see what's up. Do a search - it's pretty easy to check the codes with simply a small piece of wire.

Isn't engine code 13 pressure sensor? then wouldn't that cause the check engine light to come on if that valve was missing? god i hope my pressure is ok right now.
