"Pre-auto" style light kit on E-Bay- TERRIBLE

I thought I'd post this before some other sucker besides me decides to order the same kit I did. It's the kit a guy on E-Bay is selling under the name "mechanic74". I dealt with this guy for nearly two months trying to get him to ship it, getting the "I'm shipping it tomorrow" thing from him three times before resorting to filing a complaint with PayPal. I finally received it today and I just about lost it when I pulled it out of the box. The fiberglass buckets are thin, very weak, and look horrible. Edges are chipped badly, the cutouts for the lights are really bad. One bucket has a three inch crack across it already. The mounting points for the lights are already cracked up and wouldn't hold the lights in for more than a day in my opinion. Overall they aren't even worth the time to try to fix. I've seen or received what I thought was poor fiberglass work before, but this takes the cake. Also, the lense covers are paper thin. One rock at even low speeds and they would shatter to pieces. Otherwise the kit is great! You can check out what he sells at this link:

Yes night, I know. And I knew comments like that would be close behind this post. Please recheck the first line where I refer to myself as a sucker. I'm not a real big fan of posting about my own retard moments, but I would rather embarass myself a bit and hopefully prevent someone else from crossing their fingers, ordering the same kit, and getting screwed as well.

pre-auto went about a year ago when there was a group buy (or something like that) and everyone was "what the hell is this ****!" if you are going to buy anything, make sure you consult us first, that is why we are here!

I just reported the auction to ebay as 'fraudulent.' If you're pissed off enough, you can do the same thing every time the auction pops up.

I have seen these in person from a friend that purchased a set along time ago. these are the worst quality of lights I have seen. the plastic cover is like what a toy would be packaged with. hope you get your money back it took him a long time and a whole lot of bitching .

This guy is such an ***. I had the dispute through PayPal, which after I asked him for a refund he raised to a dispute saying I'm trying to scam him or something. He's trying to say any problems were caused by UPS mishandling the package and since I signed for them it's now my responsibility. He did offer me a $100 refund if I dropped the original dispute, kept the lights and gave him a positive feedback. I might leave a neutral if he took the lights back, buried them in a hole somewhere, and never attempted to sell another set.
