Power steering pump pulley
Power steering pump pulley
I've finally finished my engine install and during the process misplaced/lost my power steering pump pulley. I HAVE to have this car drivable by tomorrow evening. Is the car drivale with out the pulley? I have everything else hooked up, even the rest of the pump system but I dont have the pulley. Will I have to un hook anything such as wiring or hoses?
Thanks,
Andrew

It will be harder to steer, and it's really not good for a power steering rack to be used without the pump running. But will it be drivable? yes, but I would only drive it as little as possible.
damn, this thread brings back bad memories
i remember when my power steering belt broke about 40 miles before reaching home on the way home from the sema show back in may..
i thought it was the p/s pump itself or a cracked pulley but when i got home, i saw the torn belt just hanging on some parts in the bay.. thank god it didnt interfere with other moving things in there..
but yes, the car is driveable, a bitch to park or to make turns at low speeds..but like said above, i wouldnt recommend driving it if you dont have to..unless you had to to get home like in my situation
