power steering cooler

Does anyone have the link for the writeup of replacing the ps cooling loop with an after market cooler with -an lines for more ground clearance when using a v-mount? Ive tried searching but I cant come up with it, i thought it was linked from one of the v-mount threads. Any help would be appreciated as im using a crappy satellite connection on a barge offshore and its slow as hell searching for this info.

Don't have any links at the moment, but did just install a Setrab cooler to replace the P/S loop. The reason is the same as yours - no room for the old P/S loop.

Here's the cooler: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

It doesn't say so on that page, but it is a Setrab cooler.

I bought a piece of angle aluminum, cut it to fit on the sway bar mounts where the old rad mounts were. The cooler is mounted horizontally on the face of the angle aluminum, using well nuts for shock mounting.

The lines for the P/S are not the same size, one will work with a -6 AN connector, and the other (to the P/S fluid tank) is an -8 AN.

Pegasus auto racing has an adapter to change one end of the cooler to -8.

The picture in the ad is incorrect, the actual part looks just like the one that came with the cooler.

Some Parker 3/8 and 1/2 hose was used to finish up the plumbing.

I don't have a good pic at the moment, but can get one later if you like.

the setrab is a good cooler but you can get a decent power steering cooler for cheaper just browse through summit's coolers. doesn't have to be anything massive as the stock version can't be all that efficient (nor does it have to).

I have the same exact inline fluid cooler w/ -6 AN fittings that AgentSpeed originally did the write up for. Unfortunately it's developed a leak a few years later Anyone else have the same problem?

I'm the new (2+ years now) owner of AgentSpeed's car and I have all sorts of experience with that inline cooler.

The fittings are kind of at a weird angle and are prone to leaking. I don't like the fact that the cooler is supported by the crossbar, it's a pain to service and I'm junking the whole thing.

I'm buying this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...part=DER-13223 (because it's cheap and compact) and I'm going to build a custom bracket for it and use 2x 120* -6AN to barb fittings and get that thing away from under the engine bay.

I just used some JBWeld Waterweld on the ends of the fluid cooler. Looks like the original sealant that was used didn't like ps fluid so much. So far it seems to be holding up and has stopped the leakage. You might want to give that a try first.
