Power FC and Knock Sensor

Does the Power FC need to see the knock sensor?

As i was puling my motor apart i noticed that the back of the knock sensor was not there anymore...so you can see the wires inside...so i would assume that it is damaged. Retail price of knock sensor = 260$

i'm running a power fc for my single turbo setup...so does it have to see a knock sensor signal?

I know that the PFC doesn't adjust timing or anything for high knock conditions, it is only able to display the knock numbers. So I would guess that you can run without the sensor.

I recommend you buy your parts from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda in Woodbridge, VA. He takes calls from all over the country for 7s and is extremely knowledgable. He gives a rx7 club discount price on all parts. I just bought a knock sensor from him for $176. His direct number is 703-490-8263. Last year he sold me a new transmission at $800 less than what the local Mazda dealer quoted me!
