Thumbs up Post pics of your non-stock steering wheels

I think it's about time for me to get rid of my stock steering wheel and need help making the decision. One main distinction is with airbag or without. I really like the wheel with the efini emblem on it, but it is a non-airbag wheel. Also, I already have and like my exterior efini emblems, so the newer jspec wheel with the new mazda symbol is out.

Anyway, let's see some pics

Get a '99 spec nardi wheel like me Rich. Airbag works too. The wheels with the flying m logo came in 00-02 FDs.

Can someone please explain to me whay any sane person would opt for a steering wheel without an airbag?!?!?

Assuming it is not a track car of course, why would someone decrease safety in a car I assume will be driven at high speeds?

It just doesn't make sense...even for a better looking or feeling wheel.

Jeez, im dead set on thinking a nice clean black interior is the best for ANY FD. I mean it looks soo nice.

Now im really determined to do this conversion before summer. Im already gathering all my pieces.

Why no air bag ? Track car, and additional leg room. I am 6'1 and it helped alot with leg room. The road feel was a huge improvment vrs the stock wheel.

Unfortunately I've not made it to dyno yet. I had BDC tune the car but it was street tuning. IF an opportunity presents itself locally this spring/summer I will do so. I'd expect to see 450rw on pump and 500+ on race.

I had the t78 on a streetport motor for a couple of weeks before I built the halfbridge. IT then spooled around 4200-4500. Now with the HBP it spools a full 500rpm sooner. Hell, it's not much shy in terms of response than what my old little t04E was. Powerband is from 4000-8500, though it does seem to drop off very slightly above 8000. IT is very strong in the midrange. I'm happy with the driveability, considering the level of mods. Idle is around 1400-1500 most of the time...I have played around with and without the ISC assisting idle because the car was inconsistent with the PFC intervening, sometimes hanging near 2krpm, sometimes dropping to 1krpm. I can get it to idle as low as 900rpm without dying, but it sounds it's smoothest around 1400 and the whole car rocks side to side
