possible boost problem, or other?

Okay, here's a quick desc. of my problem. I have a 93' touring, stock 100%, however the secondary turbo smokes under heavy load, however, I can hear the primary spool, but for some reason, it feels like it's making no power. I put an autometer boost gauge in, and the vacuumm is pulling about 17-20, but when I go into where boost "should be" the gauge stops at zero, but there's a bit of pull. Not sure if the car really isn't boosting or what. I am getting ready to pull the intake mani off, and start replacing ALL the vacuumm lines, any advice or search keywords to give me an edge? Or would it be a wise thing to maybe go non-sequential. or are the turbos just shot? Tips please! thnx

What kind of Autometer boost gauge? Electronic or Mechanical? The reason I ask is because I went through 3 Autometer Cobalt (Electronic) and each one said I was boosting at 20 psi (w00t) when really it was about 3 psi. So...could be a bad gauge. Just a thought.

And going non-sequential was the best thing I ever did for my FD. I had sooooo many boost problems because of all the vacuum lines and whatnot...The car feels like a brand new car now. Seems twice as fast because of all the problems I was having before not getting good boost.

I currently have a mechanical gauge, with a pressure tester, the gauge would work, but it acts like it gets stuck under the boost from the car..... In a lot of ways, I don't want to rid the 7 of the sequential set-up, but at the same time, I'm looking for over-all stability when canyon driving, and drifting.... I'm still new to setting things up, so, I need a little hand-holding (non-fruity like) I'm just a driver starting to learn the tuning side.....

You may want to check for a boost leak in your intake lines, possibly the coupler on the stock y-pipe (known to crack). That would let out all the pressure and would make your gauge read zero if the hole in the line was big enough. Before doing all those vaccume lines(which you should do as a reliablility mod anyways) i would check for a boost leak.
