porting question: bridging primaries

has any one removed the material between the primary intake runners on the center plate. Kinda like an x pine for the intake?? just wondering if it would feed a large port a little better.

Sorry the title should be joining the primaries: I am half retarded

I think that the air would slam up against the back wall and you would get massive turbulence. Probably a step in the wrong direction, in my opinion anyway
