I'm gettin pretty loud popping/cracking/snapping sounds that come from my exhaust.. They've started to come even when I just start up the car and downshift like at 25mph to 2nd gear.

After its warmed up it stops doin this at low speeds but at high rpms i'll hear the popping/cracking/snapping sound comin from the exhaust.

the turbos are NOT leaking (i did practically all the tests that check for a leak and everything works fine. 10-8-10 pattern, up to 4-5psi revin the engine in neutral, etc.)

mods: ss downpipe, exh4ust system, m2 cold air intake

the cars getting the oil change today..

 

I get similar sounds from my FD with stock catback, cat, and a DP. The car is a little rumbly when this is going on, but like yours, mine settles down after the car is warm. Not sure what it is, but looking at the pfc, doesn't look to be terribly bad.

 

Most of the time, its the unburned fuel burning as it hits the air..

If you are really concerned about this.. Take it to a dyno that has wideband.. make sure your car is running rich or not....

 

I get that too. I get lots of sputtering or popping. I have an apexi N1 with stock precat and cat, and a drop in K&N.
