I used sand paper and then rouges with a buffing wheel. I started with 80 grit paper, to smooth out all the nasty bumps. Then switched to 120, then 240, 400 and finally 600 grit. Then I used the 8" buffing wheel on a angle grinder( all that I had available) and used white rouge for the first polishing step. Then after that I used blue rouge, which is the high polishing rouge and..... Viola! I takes a bit of time but when your done it is rewarding. The throttle body was a snap. It was really easy to polish since it was way smoother than the UIM.... and what pissed off chick
