Polished PFS Smic

I would like to thank Garfinkle for the wonderful job done on polishing my PFS Smic. I've had this intercooler for a few months now, and the only thing I didn't like about it was how the guy I bought it from had painted it. I will be buying some polished aluminum pipes and the greddy elbow within the next couple of weeks. I will also be polishing the TB and UIM. Eventually I'll get to the waterpump and alternator housing...but thats probably a few months away. Here's some before and after pics...

Before...

After...

Yeah...I will take some better pictures when its installed with all the other pieces. Yes, the endtanks and pipes were originally powdercoated red...they are also cast aluminum, so they are a bitch to polish. I think all things considered, it came out well. Its much better then the pics show.

Looks like he should of finished cleaning the old red power coating off of the welds. I did the PFS intercooler I used to have a couple of years ago. I just sanded the weld bead right off while polishing it.

Looks great, taking the welds off looks really nice! I went with the smooth look on a lot of my polished parts as well. I took the GReddy off the elbow and think it looks about 10 times better.

what you mean like this?
http://plaza.ufl.edu/yanni25/7work/elbow/

the 2 nubs are for air intake thermosensor and water/alc injection.
Of course all the **** I polished looks horrible now because I was rushing when I installed them.

He can just use some aircraft paint remover to get all the old powder coating off, even in the fins.

Exactly like that. I wish I had the nubs for the injection. Looks great, what did you use to polish it? I had to use a dremel. I cut off the extended piece on the end because it didn't work well with the 3" piping. I also polished the inside of the elbow to match the outside. I'm going to ceramic coat it eventually anyways, but it works for now.

yeah I put the nubs on for extra reinforcement to trap into plus the air intake sensor won't sit flush and will have some threads exposed on the inside of the elbow that don't need to be there without the raised nub

What do I use to polish hmm. Well I'm a polisher if you really need some tips just pm me and I'll explain. Oh my elbow used to have the 2 injector bungs and aws hose : )
