Poform Shift Light

I bought the Proform adjustable shift light.I hooked it up and it does not flash when its at its setting. I set it up to the green wire to go to the negative on the primary coil. I searched the forum and i noticed someone said to hook it up the same way as a 4 cylinder and to put it on the trailing coil. I was just looking for some verification on what to do
thanks
mike

Do you have a wiring diagram? Or can you briefly explain some of the install instructions.

Makes sense to me to get a signal from the trailing coil though, since the leading coil fires for both rotors.

It says to hook up red-power black-ground green-negative side of leading coil
for the 4 cylinders it says to cut the orange and brown wire on the back of the light

i set it up like a four cylinder. I also put it on the trailing coil. IT tried to melt when it got power. What wire is the negative one on the trailing coil. The Blue with white tracer or the black with red tracer.

make sure if u are hooking it up at the coils pull the wire out of the plug & hook it up there, don't use 1 of those cheap blue break in connectors as the wires also have a ground wrap around them, u will fry a coil doing this trust me

The black and red is 12v ignition power !! You should do your homework before hooking up wires and melting things down. You probably fried your light.

Use a voltmeter or better yet, the shop manual tells all. Page z-28 has the info you want.

Ok Blue....Try this...

Positive to a switched 12v source, black to ground and the Green tach signal wire for the FD is the Y/L wire on terminal 2B at the ECU. Programming the raptor is easy - set it up on 4 cylinder and click the RPM switches to 7500 rpm ( at least this works for me ).
