NY Please help with starting issues

Hey I'm new to the rotary FD scene and I'm having issues starting up my FD.I've had it stored for most of the winter because of blown stock turbos. We've had pretty cold days this winter in NY and while stored I've been starting up my FD once a week or so.( I know not a good idea)Havent had much time to start it up once a day or so like I should've.Well everytime I've had time to start it up I've had to use a portable battery jump starter which was fine with me because it started right up.Of course It smoked like crazy becuase of the blown turbos I suppose.I always let it run for about 30 minutes.Well a couple of weeks of doing this and now car wont start at all.I first tried to jump start it with portable jump starter I've been using and nothing. Not even the Interiorlights/warning lights go on.And my car alarm wont even go off.Which got me to think battery was done.Well I took battery out and hooked it up to battery charger and when I hook it up it says the battery is fully charged. So I put it back in car and try to jump start again with portable jump starter to no avail.Again nothing comes on no alarm no lights.Well Then I try to jump start it with my dads protege hook up both cars to each other with jump starters and as soon as I do this my car alarm and all warning lights go off.SO I then get somewhere, although That happens I try to start my 7 but it wont crank. It tries but wont turn over.Is my alternator done?OR DID I NEED A JUMPSTART AND ALSO MY ENGINE GOT FLOOEDED?!!Hope NOT.ANy opinions would be greatly appreciated.I think this is not even an FD question but a basic automobile problem. Thanks!

How do you know the turbos are blown?

Oil from intake and turbos leaking oil.White cloud of smokes shoots from exhaust I believe when 1st or 2nd turbo kicks in>im pretty sure its second turbo though.Alot of smoke when first started up also.Plus I confirmed it with a mechanic who has a rotary shop here in ny.

About the fuses, which ones in particular?

Sounds like fouled plugs once you actually got it to turn over. Just letting it idle for a couple mins then shutting down is not great for the plugs. The electrical issue I am not sure of, could be several things.

I had a similar thing happening to my FD and found your thread in my search. I had a new battery, it was working/driving fine, then one day all the lights died and it wouldn't start. had someone jump and it worked. Charged the battery at home-same results.
Had the battery tested-it was fine. Jump started and took it to Napa and they tested the Alternator-also fine.

I just figured out my problem. The ground was bad. When I jump started it, I grounded it to metal in the car, not the battery negative terminal and of course it worked fine.

To test- If you have a multi-meter. Test for continuity between a grounded (metal part- I used the metal hook right next to the alternator, make sure you have a good connection) and battery negative terminal. See if they are connected.
If you don't have a meter. Turn on the headlights, if they don't turn on leave them on, then connect your jumper cable between the two(neg terminal and grounded metal). If they suddenly turn on then you have a ground problem. A bad ground or loose wire can cause it to draw A LOT more power than the battery can sometimes provide. So a jump start may still work, but the battery connections may not. If you have a meter you can also test to see how much power it is drawing when turning things on. Try the lights (if they work) then try the starter.

If that is not it, check all the fuses and the positive side connections right next to the battery positive. You can trace the main connections and test continuity with the meter directly to the battery there too. A little more dangerous to try a jumper cable to connect the positive side, don't try that.

Either way, I would suggest taking apart both battery terminal connections and cleaning thoroughly with a wire brush. Check the other end of the ground as well where it attaches to the metal.

Hope that helps !

I would definitely check your battery termials for corrosion and tightness. The FD connectors are prone to failure over sufficient time.
