Please help me pick out paint
Hey I'm getting a 1993 vintage red touring and the paint is really faded on top and on the hood and the front bumper has paint chips and the rear has oxidation so it really needs paint
I wanted to go with Red for sure but different than vintage red
Do you guys know of any reds that look good and can you please post some pics of the rx7s with it
this is a pretty big deal I'd rather leave it like it is than paint it a color I don't like so I have to be careful here
thanks

As long as you dont get a Deep red with a bluish pearl layer on top, thats RedR1's paint
It sounds weird, but theres a SC300 running around town with that scheme, and it looks oh so sweet.

I just got my car repainted. The original color was VR. What I can tell you from my experience is to repaint your car VR or a similar color and incorporate a Pearl color into the clear. The pearl adds alot to the car especially in the sunlight but when its cloudy or night time the car sorta glows Red with no pearl. If you choose to go to something other than VR you will need your jams repainted including engine and trunk. Your engine will probably never come close to matching unless you take everything out and paint the entire car. My car was repainted porsche Red with a copper pearl. The porsche red is about 3 shades darker than VR and I wish I would have gone back with VR. You can tell the difference in the oddest places that didn't recieve the new paint like the front edges (door bends) in the door jams. A picture of the car is attached.
Good Luck

-chris how much did that paint job cost you?
In the sun it looks a little orangy looks nice!
I'm looking for a dark dark red that never looks pink or orange
I think I like ferrari red also because the porshe red seemed a little too orange in some pics
thanks again

Yanni,
My paint job was 900. Here is my car when it is cloudy. It also gets darker as night approaches. As you can see the pearl makes it look different when the sun is out. If you want dark red champagne red is probably what you are looking for.

Chris thanks for the help
I really like that color in the picture
I actually love that color, its what I'm looking for exactly
champaign ehh? is the the real name of the color? what should I tell the body shop that it's called?
with this color do you think I have to repaint the jams or will it look alright?
That $900 is that a good deal or what?
Because this lady taht practically is related to me owns a body shop and she told me for a very good paint job she will charge me 1000-1200 and that would include jams and everything nicely done
Is she cutting me a break here or should I shop around?
thanks
