Please help identify wire... Under Driverside
This wire I found just hanging down between my subframe near my steering column. It is not connected to anything. Any help would be much appreciated.
Why, if this wire is cut/damaged, does the oil level light not stay on while I am driving?
Note, the light DOES come on when I start the car, so I know the bulb is OK.

Oil level sensor is on the oil pan driver side. You sender's wire has broken loose. When this happens usually there is nothing to solder it back to. Call Ray at Malloy Mazda and order a new oil level sensor and install it.

When it is connected it is grounded and light stays out, when cut off light is on. Light tells you right now to call Ray at Malloy and get a new sensor and to NOT just ground the wire to get your light out. Short cutting this safeguard may cost you an engine rebuild.
