Please Help car won't start!!!!!

I have not a clue to what it might be. i didn't drive my car at all this weekend except to move it out of the garage and then back into the garage lastnight. Tonight I got in it and tried to start the car, and she acted like she was gonna start and then didn't so i tried again and all I get is the spinning of the starter. What could this be? my dad left the interior lights on for like 12 hours Sunday, but sunday night i got in the car and notice they where on I started the car first try but there was a little hesitation to it. pulled it into the garage and shut it off. the car was probably only on for like 30 seconds. Now this. What could it be? I tried to jump the car thinking that just the battery was low, but when I do only the starter spins and that is all. any help would be great because this is my only transportation as of right now.

sounds like its flooded. Thats what happens when injectors start getting old. Flooding happens when you turn the motor on for a few seconds drive it up or down the drive way and shut her off. You could try de-flooding it by flooring the gas on neutral and starting the car. This will tell the car to crank and fire, but not to add pump any fuel.
Option no. 2 is read about "Flooding"at Robinette'ssite.www.rx7turbturbo.com under menu.

Cool

Check your EGI main fuse or if anything all your fuses that relate to your starting. Make sure that they are not blown. EGI main fuse in your engine bay. Also double check your spark plugs and wires. If your car is flooding, you should smell fuel... at least you didn't mention that. Does it smell like fuel when you crank it? Anyways good luck bro.....

see ya,

Your plugs are "wet fouled". Put in new ones and it will fire right up. It will smoke like a sonofabitch for a few minutes - nothing to worry about though. Drive it until it is hot (20 minutes). Don't EVER start ANY engine for only a few seconds again. They get pissed off at you real fast when you wake them up and then tell them to go back to sleep.:p

Well I have 88 TII and it floods sometimes. I could be way off base as mine is not a 3rd gen but you could try unflooding like I do with mine.

Pop the hood, pull the EGI INJ fuse. Set it to the side. Get in car and crank it. When you do this it WILL NOT START. So like I was saying crank the car for like 20 seconds..or a little longer if you feel like it. Then after say 20 seconds turn key off, get out, put fuse back in. Get in car and crank it. It should start..you might need to give it a little gas..but only if it feels like it is going to die. You might need to repeat it a few times. I hae always just had to do it once.

Like stated earlier it will probally smoke..how much depends on how much it is flooded. Everytime mine does it I never see it smoke..dont know if it smokes a little and i just dont see it or if it doesn't smoke. Oh I dont know if this is the info in the link up above, I was to lazy to look. Oh if i have any of this wrong...let me know because i have never done that o a 3rd gen..but it works on my 2nd gen.
Hope that helps
later

Well I pulled the old plugs and they were horriable.I replaced the orginally when i bought the car about 7000 miles ago. So I replaced those with brand new ones and still have problems. I pulled thoughs and they were covered in fuel and so I dried them out. i then sprayed Automatic Transmission Fluid in the plug holes and put everything back on. It acted like it was going to start then didn't so I tried again and she acted like she did in the beginning.

I am a little confused on this whole pressing the gas pedal to the floor when I try and crank it. In the directions it says to do this to make the ecu not fire the injectors. Is this right? sounds backwards to me. Also should I keep trying to crank it over with the fuel pump relay out of it after I have done everything i did so far? I am getting a little pissed, but trying to keep telling myself that queer **** like this comes with owning a third gen. thanks for all the help so far.

well i went through this last night and finnaly got it to work at two in the morning, and heres what i did. i tried pulling the plugs adn turing it over with it floored and putting the plugs in a cranking it three times, didnt work, so i did it the fourth, oh yea under the plastic piece in the front bisde the air box take out the 2 10 mm bolts and pull the fuel pump fuse, take out your plugs and turn it over for about ten seconds with it floored, let it sit for awhile and go clean your plugs, heres how i clean them, and a friend at a performance shop told me how too and it worked, get some carb cleaner or quick start and spray them down, just the metal parts, and light them on fire, it will burn off the old oil and all, then clean them off with a towel good and shake them out good, go turn your car over a gain for about 10 second intervals a couple of times with it floored, put the plugs in put in the fuel pump fuse and start the car, dont floor it jsut start it like normal, mine fired right up this time, smoked like hell but it worked great. now heres something else you may have to do and i did, my computer had gone to limp mode so after i cranked it up it ran fine, but when i tried to drive it it would do ok until i got boost then the car would die, to fix this, if it happens disconnect battery step on brake for 20 seconds, then let it sit for 2 minutes connect and go, this fixed me up good and now it runs like new, hope this helps, scott ps sorry for the bad spelling
