Red face Please help...

Hello,
Well i have a 1993 Mercury Tracer LTS...im 16, thats my first car...i want a 1993 mazda rx-7 (twin turbo) i did the research...it would cost me about 7500$-8500$ for a good condition, stocked rx-7 twin turbo (255hp) but for some reason people sell them for way more...:-\ my dad asked me today if i want his 2006 toyota corrola s (sports edition) or if i wanted to lease a new car, and pay each month for it...but i really want that speedy mazda..i saw clips of it beating really fast/tough cars...makes me want one

so for my questions:
1. what is the price going to be for a stocked one?
2. is it going to be twin turbo, have all of the cool gauges, and boost stuff?
3. Once I get the car and that good stuff, what should I know about the car/ rotary engine? I heard alot about the some kind of engine problems, and I see alot of posts about "not babying your car, its not good for the engine." What is that all about?
4.is there anything else I have to keep in mind? Or what other things should the average rx-7 buyer/fan know about these cars?

PS: Sorry for all of these questions, I'm new to Import cars. Thank you in advance! :-D

Every question you asked can be answered in the stickies at the top of the 3rd Gen forum. Do you research here, then ask your question.

Scott

And by the way, $7500-8500 for a good condition FD is not gonna happen.

I want you to stop before you burn to death from the flaming....Just tryin to help you...Start with the stickies at the top of the section...But from my stand point the FD should not be a starting vehicle...Also plan to shell out money to keep your 13yr old car going nicely...If your still wanting one after all of the reading of the stickies and understand them then more power to you!

EDIT: oh, if you want to start with a rotary sports car start with a FC or FB...they are more maintainable and cheaper to get and work on...I started there and I don't regret it--I admire it! I've been there just like many of us older folk...Listen to the wise and best of luck!

im sorry to say but for that price you will find only fd's WITHOUT motors and trannys. If you want a good condition rx-7 expect to pay 12,000 to 15,000

Drive your beater until you are older and wiser. Come back to us in about 3-4 years (or more). (Not meant to be harsh, just factual.)
