FD's roll on 225/45 16's
Stock FDs roll on 225/50 16's

Some people go to 245/45 16's.

If you are installing a turbo timer, to get to the ignition harness you first remove 2 screws on the panel under the column. Do not forget the 1 dumbass screw to the door side behind the vent panel. If you do forget, you can always superglue it back together, like I had to tonight

I don't think anyone said:

The dumbass OEM AST will crack around 40K. Remove or replace with aluminum.

All FDs should be upgraded to dual oil coolers if not stock. All dual oil coolers should be upgraded with aftermarket kits.

The 99 nose has nicer lights.

HOLY ****!!! That's so true!!!!

Okay, here's another fact:

Stock leading spark plugs are part number BUR7EQ
stock trailing spark plugs are part number BUR9EQ. If they have "P" on the end i.e. BUR7EQP, they are platinum spark plugs, which are supposed to last longer. It is recommended that if you are mildly modified, to run BUR9EQ, which are the colder plugs. Plus, doing this, you will not have to replace the leadings as much.

r u suggesting running 9's all around or Platinum 7' and regular 9's or just regular 7's and 9's all around? Please elaborate. thanks bro.

wow...this thread again...Okay I run BUR9EQ's all around. the Platinum's are BUR9EQP. For my mod list, it's easier to elaborate what I don't have. Differential/Single turbo...that's about it...

This thread is way too silly!

Speed Racer's Mach V was a 3rd gen' RX-7!

You can pull out the ashtray and use it for your cell phone. NO -> (even if she blows ya)

If your G/F is short, she will bitch about BJ's cause of the damn transmission hump!

High mantenance G/F + High Maitenance RX-7 = empty wallet, but you'll have **** eatn' grin

That's what I use it for. That and any spare nuts and bolts that may suddenly "appear" within the car
Amen. I did installed my Power FC a few weeks ago. When I was done, there were 2 green painted screws (identical to the 3 that retain the piece under the dash you need to remove to get at the ignition harness). I have no clue where they came from

they look best in silver, and it gets real warmish in the car when the air conditioner on them doesn't work.

Nick, you should break your heater, then. My heater doesn't work, and it gets *cold* in the car.

Thanks Orange. I'll think about it. I don't think I'll need the heater anyways since I live in Nebraska .

another fact... for some modles mostly 93 R1s. the Power FC cann't simply plug in and controll the A/C compressor. After some modification (removing ECU compressor controll) the A/C works great again.

The expansion Valve on a 93 touring is 198$ from the dealer... parts stores don't have a listing for out car under A/C
a 92 toyota corolla expansion valve fits right in ans is only 30$ from autozone.

while I'm on A/C a 93 touring takes 21oz of freon and 5oz oil.

FD Trivia - Based on a conversation I had with a Mazda North American Offical, recently they did a inventory of all Mazda dealers nationwide, you would think they do these things every year, but they don't Mazda is just recently becoming more centrally organized. Anyhow as the information came back many cars from as far back as the early 90s were showing up in systems, some wrecked and parked in a back lot somewhere or some that were given as "gifts" to VIPs inside and outside of Mazda etc. As this Mazda staffer was looking at the numbers roll in (based on VIN only) he noticed the code FD3 .... and his jaw dropped...and within seconds he was on the phone to the delaership, come to find out that car was indeed a CYM, and was registered to the dealer as a "press fleet" car... this would be a car that reporters and magazine editors might drive.. the best thing about what the staffer found was that with dealer depreciation he would be able to buy the car internally for less than $7000 !!!

However the staffer was not able to pick up the car as it instantly tagged by a Mazda North America Executive as his new personal toy.
