Plastic piece on Fuel Pump

OK so i went to install my supra pump when i broke the plastic piece that goes on the nipple of the pump, is this really needed? i had no choice but to put it back in with just the o-ring so i could get it back in the garage.

The one that holds the o-rings? It's very necessary to getting the o-rings to seat correctly with the stock pump. Unless the Supra pump uses a different connection that plastic piece is also necessary.

Was it orange? I broke that piece, put it back together and everything seems to work fine.

yes it was an orange color. humm i put it on without it too but i really dont want to drive it since i saw how the o-ring looked in there.. the supra pump is pretty much identical to the stock one. humm i guess ill wait for the rebuild and let them do it. it was a pita for me to put that o-ring in.

You could just cut off the enlarged part of the feed tube and install fuel injection hose and clamps, thats what i did when i added the extra pump. Note: be sure to use fuel injection hose and clamps for high pressure fuel line!

I just did my pump and ended up using the piece off the original factory pump.
