planning to buy a twin turbo T 03/04 installed on RX 7
Hi Guys,
I have enough money to buy twin T 03/04 hybrid turbo. I'm going to rebuild my engine this coming spring before i install the turbo in.
Here's my plan for the set up of the engine:
S-AFC stand alone
race street port 3 mm apex seal upgrade
greddy front mount intercooler for twin turbos.
blitz dual blow off valve.
1600 CC hks injector with secondary upgraded fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump
HKS twin power ignition and amplifier with MSD wire set.
anymore suggestion?

Don't use the S-AFC (its not a stand alone). Use a POWER FC, Haltech, etc...
twin T 03/04 hybrid turbo?? do you mean two smaller sized single turbos? or do you mean upgraded twins?

I am a little confused as to what you are doing. You talk about a new turbos but then say "turbo". Twin setups are pretty complex unless you are going with some BNR's or another factory style upgrade.
S-AFC isnt worth your time. you need to get a Power FC or a similar stand alone. I would also suggest a datalogit so you can run the injectors.

What's up with you guys in West coasts??
Datalogit is so that he could tune the car. to run the bigger injectors, you could change it thru the commander.. Don't need the datalogit.. And I don't think he'll be able to tune it and I definitely don't recommend it!
First of all, I didn't want to flame this guy but obviously he either used to own an FC or Honda. NO one uses SAFC unless they owned some other car besides an FD.
I think he's pulling things out of the hat. Individual twin set up isn't easy and tuning might be very difficult. Also, lag might be pretty bad.
My recommendation once again is look thru the FAQ, listen to the veterans on the forum, go meet some local 7 owners and see what kind of set up they have, and found out what you want out of your 7.

What kind of twin turbo set up?? Be more specific?? There are at least 4 set ups I could thing of right now.
My recommendation which I tend to tell most people I meet and one that I follow is, stick with stock twins, learn how to fix them and get them running correctly. Then later, if you want to try something different, go non-seq or true non-seq. After that, you could go single or BNR twins. I think that way you'll know ins and outs of the FD pretty damn well. The hardest thing about these cars are running them seq. Its so easy to run it non seq or single. Most of the time, I think people just give up trying to troubleshoot seq. system. But during that process, you'll really learn whats really happening to your car.
Good luck with your project!

I agree completely with herblenny. Stay twins for a while and get used to working on that setup and making sure it runs properly. After that you will get a really good idea of how your FD works. Trust me just trouble shooting an idle issue I learned so much be figuring out how everything works on the stock sequential setup. You can look at things in your engine bay and educate your local mechanic that says he knows a little something about rotaries. Like a few of the "mods" such as double throttle and the aws removal...my mechanic tried to say that it isn't a good idea to remove that but I told him exactly what they do and how the throttle body works and what not and he's like well you got a point there.
Also if you are looking for performance you can definetely hit 11's with the stock twins and even 10's with enough mods. After that go single and you will be in the 9's with enough money spent under the hood.
