pictures of my new hood and 99 frontend

OK I tried this a few days ago because the pictures were not approved it didn't work so well.
here goes again...

got my car on the road since the crash. put teh mazdaspeed style hood and 99 frontend on. left the front plate on the frontend since I didn't want to risk screwing it up removing it. gonna fill it in with a black half high rx-7 plate.

take a look

Nice. Very Nice. Where did you get the hood? Did you have any fitment problems?

got the hood throught the GB tht is going on right now. I was one of the first to get it and had it all painted that next weekend. The hood it GReat. I don't like the Nonstock rice overly fast look and sound. I was real worried this hood may do just a bit of that. NOT AT ALL. the scoop is just enough to function with adding a bit of that jap attitude we all love, to the look of the car (ie front splitter lip spoiler). but almost everyone that has looked at the car figures first off that it is bran new (maybe teh 99 lights) and also figure it's the stock hood. most of them love it. they really lov it when they see that unlike a 5.slow and all the countless other **** the vent is not for looks but function....

as for fitment, there was some minor shimming involved. I would have to give fit a 9 out of 10 can't get any better IMHO.

looks good, but...

... you need to finish the job.

See this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=64328

You can always tell a FD has been wrecked when people post pix where you can see the ground through the front bumpers radiator duct inlet, oil cooler inlets or brake duct inlets. The ducts/belly pan are an essential part of routing air to the respective cooling unit. Otherwise, air goes around these components rather than through them (at least that's what Corky Bell says) since it is the path of least resistance. I'd suggest ordering these for proper summer cooling if you haven't already. Kudos on the rest of the work - nice paint.

Looks nice although the J-spec wing would look better with the front end. It looks very clean.

btw, very nice job there forcefed1.

did it take a lot of work to get the new 99 front to line up properly with the old stock fenders, or were your stock fenders pretty true to start out with? i am worried that when i change my front end, my fenders are not going to line up correctly and it will look out of whack ghetto.
