Of course, since you have knockoffs already, who's gonna buy the original? I thought about buying the WiseSports kit you had on your site, but why bother if its likely to be copied and everyone will have it?

Neofreak, you still didn't reply to FDNewbie's statement regarding how capitalism works. Almost every product we buy is a copy or slight modification of another.
If they were modified, sure. Add an extra lip, or cut out something for more airflow, maybe an all original bumper.. but don't make an exact copy directly off a mold of an original. Coke and Pepsi, not copies of each other really, two different implementations of cola. $20 Folex vs $5000 Rolex, blatant knockoff.

The Rolex watches were actually a good example, did you ever notice it's only the people on street corners or grubby little shops selling them? Guess why?

Anyways, you guys go and buy all the knockoffs you want, thats fine. Throw on some ADR rims and enjoy. I don't care. The RX-7 market has completely gone into the toilet the last few years. No one wants to pay for anything, not even half price for anything.

Fine. You guys win. Keep prices high, eliminate innovation. When no new kits come out, don't look for your knockoff brands to come out with something new.

Good day.

oh! and since things have come full circle, and things are a-ok to copy, I will provide high resolution detailed photographs of the "RE" V-Mount at my earliest convinence for the benefit of the community.

This is not an ADR rim situation.

1) Chuck makes replicas of products THAT AREN'T MARKETED HERE. Yes, you can buy the real thing that has been imported, but none of the Japanese companies are making any attempt to market here. It's a subtle difference but an important one.

2) RE's replicas are as good as or better than the originals. ADR wheels ARE cheaply made, inferior quality wheels when compared to SSR, Volk, etc.

3) How many body kits are actually sold in the US for FDs? Since Chuck has bought originals for every replica he sells, I would be willing to bet that he is a significant percentage of the US bodykit business for genuine body parts.

The Japan companies don't give a **** about the US. They'll continue to design products for their market -- Japan -- or they won't. Either way, what happens in the US has almost no effect on them.

Again, I'm not kissing Chuck's ***. Just trying to present an alternative viewpoint. Also, again, I don't see you bad-mouthing any of the other companies that are doing this.

So you brought up another point. Some people buy original bodykits trying to be original and you will be one of them. There is nothign worng with that. If you want to be original, you should buy the most expensive bodykit there is so most likely no one else is going to have it. WiseSports kit is cheap. I sell the original one for $600 per item which is even cheaper than replica. No, it won't be copied but don't expect to be the only one to have it because I am selling it cheaper than a lot of my other "KNOCK OFF" bodykits.

You want to be the only one? I have something for you. Buy the Border widebody kit for the FD. Right now no one has it and most likely you will be the only one since it's $8000 not including shipping from Japna. Got money? I help you out too since I can get Border stuff. No, I am not going to copy it. You think making molds cost nonthing?

Nope, not good enough. Those products ARE lesser quality copies. Why aren't you mentioning M2, Pettit, or Atihun?

Look, I'm not saying that copying is right, but it also isn't a black-and-white issue either. A real Mazdaspeed hood is $1700. Ati-hun makes a very good quality replica for $900. Mazdaspeed does not officially market products here (for the FD anyway), so is it WRONG that Ati-hun sells a replica here for the same relative price that someone in Japan pays for the same MS hood? I don't copy CDs but I can tell you which hood I would buy....

yes, I know how much a real mazdaspeed hood is, I've got one in the garage.

The M2 thing has been hashed out in many threads and the Pettit thing was before my time. Atihun was just a one time thing right? not a buisness venture really. afaik.

Sorta off topic: Anyways, the original Mazdaspeed hood was sorta marketed here, if it wasn't, we wouldn't have gotten that recall notice for it a few years back.

Anyways, I don't see any reason to take this any further. I'll post again whenever I get around to taking some photos. (which might be a long while, its not like this is high priority or something, I don't really care.)

Well, we'll just agree to slightly disagree. I'm guessing we actually are thinking more alike than our debate here has indicated. It sickens me when I see people putting cheap-*** ugly body kits on and running cheap wheels.

I'm glad we could have a mostly civil debate instead of tearing into each other as is all too common. Good night.

You have been following me around on the forum for a while but I still don't know who you are. Who are you anyway? It just seems odd that you are Calvin's friend but you dislike me so much. Did I do you any harm before? I don't understand where your hatred is coming from.

yes, I'm obviously stalking you.

as I've already stated I'm not targeting or hating on you specifically, and as I've stated before, there are threads where I've defended you. You just fail to notice or like to twist things around like with most of your responses. (Like this one, for instance) Once you twist things around I have to defend myself, thats where your percieved hatred comes from. (Like your accusation - yeah, I'm gonna break into Calvin's house, really.) How am I supposed to respond?

I'm glad we could have a mostly civil debate instead of tearing into each other as is all too common. Good night.
Indeed.

uhh.. I think you are over-reacting. Did I just say I think you are Calvin's friend? Maybe you didn't get my joke and my haha... Oh well..

I perceived hatred from you because you have been following me around on the forum. A lot of times when there is anything regarding my products, you will be there. And now here you are. I really didn't see you defending me but I would love to see it if I am wrong. And if you did, I appreciate.

So what's your name and did I do you any harm? If I did you wrong or there is any misunderstanding, we can talk about it.

That's one of the reasons why I can't open my mouth...cuz I can't say the same. I get the copied hood, copied CD, ripped DVD, burned software, etc. So I'm not about to get into what's morally this or that. Point one finger, got 4 pointing back @ me...

I just find it weird that a Knightsports adver appear on your page for a ROTARY EXTREME DESIGNED v mount. It would be fair to presume that most people would think that is your design. Seeing how you "copyright" you page but yet a clear cut and paste picture/designwork belonging to someone else appears with no indication?

But since you are willing to state that it is from Knightsport, then I guess its fair to all..

How about giving the Knightsport people some sort of credit for giving you a headstart in the design work of your "RE" V mount? On your site?

Re: Re: Re: question of the day....

It's just a schematic. I put it on there because a lot of people still don't understand how a vmount looks. I gave Knight Sports a lot of credit on the vmounts. I even said so in this thread that they are the first one to use it on FD and the first vmount I saw is from them.

What's up with the "RE" in the quotation marks? I guess you have something else to say?

"RE" is a big deal?

Ok...MY BAD !

geez.....

all I wanted was that point out a Knightsport adver/schemtic was used in your page ROTARY EXTREME and I would like to see a due course of credit given them.

I have something else to say? nah...not worth it...

Give Knightsport their due credit is all I ask and I rest my case...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: question of the day....

I don't know. Neofreak had issue with "RE" and you two seem to be friends. Maybe I am just too sensitive.

I will take off the schematic, that's not a problem at all.
