Pics Requested of V-mount and rad.

I have done quite a bit of searching and can't find any pics of the v-mount radiator that RE makes. I have found plenty of pics of the intercooler but I want to see what the radiator looks like and how the end tanks are.

Also I would like to see where the brackets are for both the intercooler and the radiator. I am kind of looking at possibly making my own. I already have a Koyo and the kit is just too spendy for me at the moment. My next step is a better intercooler but I also want to hopefully get my car repainted this summer.

Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated.

And has anyone ever purchased from this site?
Or is there a better site to look for cores and endtanks? http://www.roadraceengineering.com/intercoolers.htm

Thanks Josh

Cossie has the HKS V mount, search for some of his threads...

Fumanchu 05-11-04 07:38 PM

PM or search for DCrosby's post. He has the Rotary Extreme V-mount. No negatives have come out of his mouth about it that I have heard.

V-mounts cost wayyy too much! :(

I have just installed the rotary extreme monster v-mount for a single turbo. It was fairly easy to install and looks nice, haven't ran the car yet waiting on down pipe rebuild....can't wait to test it out(dyno, intake nubers, and water temps).

Scrub has the RotaryExtreme V-mount (the normal one), and he's reading temps in the mid to low 70s I believe...

I got my Rotary Extreme monster v-mount one month ago, and it runs great. The first night i finish installation, I went out for a test drive; I shift to 5th gear with 150 mph for about five mins and air temp is 23 degree, water temp is nearly 80.
V-mount might alittle expensive but i think is worth.

does the HKS come with a rad? also it looks like the HKS uses a 3-row intercooler, isnt that abit much for most applications?

esebueno 05-12-04 03:03 AM

does it come with a new rad or do you angle ur current one like that? couldnt tell from the site

Their is a reason you haven't seen those pictures. From me at least, I was asked specifically not to post pictures of that kind of stuff.

Scrub, is that so no one can copy it? (I take it Chuck asked you?)

Does the v-mount setup put the radiatior in a compromising position? The Hks setup puts the radiator horizontally to the ground and it seems kind of low. The R.E. kit places the rad. perpindicular to the point of impact of the apex of the front end which could result in distaster in a seemingly mild collision i.e. Rad damage, pulleys, alt, water pump, could all be rammed by the radiator from its position in the kit. Just askin. RLTW!

Only if you buy a kit. If you have a working radiator, just buy a core intercooler and fabricate the rest. That includes piping, mounts, etc.....

BINGO!!!! that's what i'm doing. you can get a cheap core from griffin radiator(quality as well). then just put in a few hours of work and badabing you've got yourself a v-mount.

i was thinking about doing this as well, but then i thought about the mounts. I havent seen any close pics of the mounts, so that scared me. where do you mount the rad and ic? if this turns out easy then im deffently doing vmount.

Bwahahaha, a few hours of work. That's fucking hilarious. You've apparently never seen a v-mount in person.

jhammerrx7 05-12-04 06:52 PM

Mounting the Intercooler and Rad doesn't scare me. The only thing that I am unfamiliar with is how the end tanks look on the radiator. From what I've read both the of the necks are on one end and are angled different.
Where is the best place to get a griffin core and also what are the dimensions of the vmount?
