I dont think anyone should be asking others on this forum not to post pictures, this forum is here so that people can exchange information about performance and reliability modifications for their RX7. I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into creating some of these setups "but cummon WTF" stop being so damn selfish. The FREE exchange of information will only help the reliability, performance, reputation and cost of mods for OUR beloved landmissles. If someone can improve on the design or make it affordable for the working man (or Woman
) than the whole community wins. Now where are the pics

Seems like alot of bread, I dont want to reproduce it and take business from these fine gentlemen. I admire their skills, I have a V8Z and would not have as nice a car without information learned from other helpful members @ hybridz. I have spend many......hours fabricating mounts, subframes, brackets and ideas and posted numerous times with pictures to help others with their goal of improving their ride. I NEVER saw anyone ask,demand,request,ect... another member not to post pictures so others wouldnt be able to do it yourself and save $$$$.$$. Why do we come here again?
As for the products several members here are selling, I was in the group buy for the viton tubing (awsome stuff) I would buy products from anyone selling quality products but want to see it before I throw down....$$$$.$$ is ALOT! Support the businesses offering products to members on this site, this is how new products get developed, but also encourage an open forum for people to have affordable solutions to their boost addiction. There may be a way to make your own v mount setup with a few reasonably priced parts developed buy some of the people on this site that can be used with a factory or aftermarket rad and some piping and instructions. The person doing that would make lots of $$$.$$ and serve this forum. A down pipe used to cost $350+. How many would or want to spend that now? Do you benifit?

Get a clue. Chuck developed those products and doesn't sell them at much profit. He also fully supports his products -- know any other vendor that will come over on a Saturday afternoon to assist with the installation of one of his projects -- for free?
With the exception of a few custom pieces, what makes up Chuck's kits are the engineering and fabrication of the brackets, etc. If you don't want to pay Chuck's price for the setup, then come up with your own but don't expect to get a free lunch off of pictures of the setup. Jeez.

If you are talking about body pieces, a lot of the copies Chuck sells are of products that aren't even marketed here. Not to mention he still sells the originals. Also, his copies are high quality, unlike MANY other companies whose sole existence is selling copies.
I'm not kissing Chuck's *** here, but I also think he has been villified a bit here unnecessarily.

Crooked Willow is the only other company that makes an aftermarket oil cooler kit and RE's is nothing like it at all.

Yeah, MANY other companies do worse, but just because his knockoffs are "high" quality doesn't make things right. They're still molded directly off an original. Heck, many of them are/were marketed here, but the knockoffs were still sold. If Rotary Extreme's kits were all original designs, I'd have no problems whatsoever.
Wow all I have to say is Chuck you are the man. This guy called you out time and time again and you proved him wrong. All he is doing is crying about his shitty smic. My friend has one and the endtank is slanted and the air duct is straight so there is a gap. I wonder what that is for? Does it direct air to the pullies?
Chuck you are my hero!!! I LOVE your site!!

In any case, Rotary Extreme sells quality parts and Chuck stands by his products, unlike most vendors. I don't know of too many vendors that would volunteer to come over on a Saturday afternoon to help install something -- for free.

Thanks for your response, From what I have read on this board Chuck has the best vmount setup available ANYWHERE. I do not question the quality of his products or that he is an outstanding member of this comunity. Chuck thank you for your contributions I have visited your site and think the products you sell are great! I just want to get to the topic from which this thread started, members want to explore an affordable alternative and possibly use some of the parts they already have to fabricate their own vmount setup. The reason people come to this site is to learn how to modify their cars for reliability and/or performance. There is a market here for Chuck or anyone else that offers this service. The kit Chuck sells is the best, and if you can afford the best that is the kit to buy, for everyone else "you make your own" I am saving my money so I can get a vmount, if Chuck or anyone else gives me an option to use my KOYO by selling me an IC, endcaps, brackets ect... I will support you with my business, but do not try to stop the creative nature of the people supporting you.

I bought one of Chuck's V-Mounts, because it was the best product out at the time I was buying... and still is to my knowledge...
To me businesses have no ethics, a company selling you butter or bread, is looking to maximize their profit, without getting undercut by others. So do people bitch that wonder bread looks like the Pillsbury **** !? No, why ?? Bread has an accepted form in the U.S. Same thing with Butter...
As such I operate like my own mini business, in that I try to keep my money together, spend it on quality products at the lowest price... so, as long as the quality is there, why should I spend $800 for a Diffuser, if I can get a knockoff for $300 ??
R&D Expenses all that crap, well yes, but for one I can't buy one in the states, and two how long does it take to "Recoup" your investment ?? Until you're a millionaire !?? Drop the price, make it competitive, and I'll buy originals, since Everybody would like to buy originals, often times it's not feasible... (I'd love to own a Rolex, but I'm not willing to spend $5K) So you either don't own one, or you get a knock off.. for $20.00
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness (I'm happy with a knockoff for %50 less)
Hypocracy or not, I see chucks point, he's not saying "Momy He's Copying my product". He IS saying that nobody handed him bluepints to any of the knockoffs he made, he had to purchase the original, and then made copies... and all he's asking is for someone to do the same if they want to make copies, but what he's not willing to do it provide blueprints to people making their own, or copies for that matter....

Genuine RE Amemiya Fiberglass AD Hood 9 $1140

Knockoff Rotary Extreme RE Amemiya Fiberglass Hood $1150.
oh look! the knockoff is $10 more!
Who's saving what now?
do those prices include the insane shipping prices from Japan, because im sure they don't stock those. Also do they explain that you have to wait a few months for the parts to come in?

So that should be meaning that I didn't sell any since I sell them at the same price as the original and everyone is buying the original. Isn't that a great thing?

I've ordered parts, they've never taken more than a few weeks, at most.. 8 weeks.. and I've ordered some exotic parts. Besides, they do have quite a bit in stock.
No, I don't work for them. I don't even live close by.
A Dose of Reality (the Generic Brand) :p:
My God...grow up people.
If you think Chuck's the big bad wolf, go home to Goldilocks land, eat and drink your genuine soup, even if you have to pay an arm and a leg for it and wait 8 weeks for it to be served.
The rest of us (the vast majority) praise Chuck on his work. End of story. Ya don't like it, start a "I hate Chuck" thread somewhere else. Otherwise, lets keep this even REMOTELY related to the thread.
EDIT: I just had to throw in another example like DCrosby's, since the ENTIRE US market is literally EXACTLY like that.
Someone comes up w/ a great idea, the COMPETITION copies and markets their own. Sometimes it's the same. Sometimes it's improved. Sometimes it's even worse. But they do it anyways.
It is COMMON KNOWLEDGE that companies buy their competitors' products to research on them, understand them, improve upon them, and then develop their own. That is a fact of life and marketing. If you don't like it, move somewhere Communist, where equality and no competition is the standard lol
As has been stated many times before, Chuck actually buys AND sells his competitor's products. That's very honorable if you ask me. That's like saying hey, if you can afford it and want the original, I'll get it for you. But if you're like me, an average joe trying to make it buy, here's a near-perfect alternative (and in Chuck's case, sometimes his alternatives are actually even better than the original!)
If you still don't like the idea, I better see you petitioning the ACME, Giant, CVS, and Safeway brands of Coke/Pepsi, Tylenol, cough medicine, cereals, chicken soup, donughts, batteries, butter, sour cream, grape juice, etc etc. The list goes on and on.
The ONLY diff here is that the "genuine" brand (Pepsi/Coke) make their stuff in 3rd world countries for next to nothing, so they can afford to bring it to the US dirt cheap, and sell it for competitive prices. If you're still into morals, you should get on them for their exploitation of 3rd world countries as well....

The japanese countries, on the other hand, don't have that luxury. Sure, labor there is cheaper than in the US, but I don't think it's a sweatshop situation (or at least I'd like to think it's not). Plus, they can't conveniently drive up a few hundred miles and cross the US border. They gotta ship stuff to the US. Thus, they are NOT in the same situation that other common companies in the US open market are in, and thus can't compete effectively here. Basically, they don't have a stong market in the US.
Just in case you missed it though, my point was practically the entire US open market does what you're chastising Chuck of doing. So either you got a LOT of "save the globe" work to do, or just sit back, relax, and let the world turn as it has and continues to turn...because you're isolating Chuck (for no apparent reason) from a myriad of businesses that operate in the same -- no, in shadier and much more dihonest and dishonorable ways

Chuck is the most visable, pushing his products constantly. If Carbon Creations left their section and did the samething, they'd get the same response. (knockoff c-west bodykit)
I don't know where you got the "Save the Globe" idea, thats not the point. Once a knockoff is no longer cheaper, and even costs more, whats the point? Are you gonna buy Store Brand Soda for 10cents more than coke? a Coby Mega for the same price as a Sony Wega?
Just because they don't have a market their products here its ok to knockoff and duplicate? Even though you can get them through legitimate means for the same price? Fine. By all means. Go for it. Personally I'd rather support the original designer and maybe they'll continue to innovate.
Oh...i thought that smile was a "whatever" look
(This is where you reply saying "it was" lol)
What section is Carbon Creations in? Interior/Exterior/Audio?
neofreak, c'mon now, you and I both know for the most part, Chuck's prices are considerably cheaper than the originals. I'd GUESS and say that stuff like that CF diffuser, the price is practically the same because that's how much it costs to make it. But other stuff, eg. the fiberglass parts he makes and what not, they're BETTER quality than the originals, and hundreds cheaper. So lets not use a minor example to portray the vast majority of his products.

Neofreak, you still didn't reply to FDNewbie's statement regarding how capitalism works. Almost every product we buy is a copy or slight modification of another.
Also, just where in the hell does Chuck "push his bodykits"? I've never seen him advertise in threads (defending products doesn't count). Almost all of his posts on the forum are replying to questions/items about his products. He buys advertisement from the forum (banner up top), which is good, it keeps this place running.
It seems like you have a personal grudge against Chuck for some reason. I don't see you ripping on Pettit or any other number of FD vendors who do the same thing.
Besides, as I addressed earlier -- this thread is regarding PERFORMANCE parts, not BODY KITS. Which of Chuck's PERFORMANCE parts are copies?

People are getting a little too carefree with how the system actually works here. My opinions are known about the copying issue so I don't need to rehash that but it seems people are confusing (what's actually legal, actionable and able to be protected) with (small market industries being unable to enjoy or participate in those same protections because of high costs). It's a topic that's actually well beyond the scope of this forum but it's best that people don't attempt to apply these misperceptions into other aspects of their life or other industries where such conduct might not be overlooked simply because the industry is too small to support protecting itself. The Rolex watches were actually a good example, did you ever notice it's only the people on street corners or grubby little shops selling them? Guess why?

I don't mean to be an *** but you might want to take some business classes.
What drives the economy is supply and demand. There is nothing to do with the "point". If something sells becaus there is a demand. If it does not sell, it will just disappear. There is nothing to do with "the point".
If I sell the replica a lot cheaper than the original, you will say I want to low ball the original companies so I can sell the replica. If I sell them for the same price, you will say I make too much money and there is no point. Those two arguments do not coexist.
I support the original manufactures by buying a lot from them. I make money on replica and I use some of the money I make to buy more parts from them and I continue to sell their products. You can say I am hurting them but by giving them more business is more pratical than your shout out. I have spent at least 150K on orignal parts for the past 2 years. How much have you bought? And let me give you two facts.
1. Original products are really hard to sell. I have many of them sitting here for 6-18 months and still sit here. A lot of times I have to dump them at cost or below cost to move them.
2. There are two groups of people. Some will insist on buying the original and some will buy the repilca. The two groups do not really overlap even if you think they do.
I have been in this business for 6-7 years and I do this every day. If you think I am bull shitting you, you can start your own rx7 business and see it yourself.
