Awesome

You have to see this cage/setup in person to fully appreciate it.

Awesome work Damian, I can't wait until my first passenger ride!

Seeing as you have this nice cage, you dont need the rear strut brace. Fancy selling it?

What's up with that broke-dick bend on the main hoop JK.

How did you mount your fal window? I mounted mine like the stocker and it cracked in half. I hope my current one doesn't crack.

Are those hatch props removable? Or are they hinged on the hatch?

Yeah Dude, I was pretty upset about it but summitracing gave me a new one for free. They come with a one year warranty. They didn't know why it happened.

Nice pics however a black painted interior is going to make that ride a little hotter now...not that it already doesn't create enough heat inside the cabin.

Have you had a chance to weigh your car with this new mod?

Is that dynomat for the interior? It looks like whatever it was you painted it on by hand and not sprayed it..

If it is could you let us know how well it reduced road noise. When its raining outside and im driving i can hear the water hit the wheel wells. So annoying. I too run a stripped interior.

Looks nice. I have a question though, has anyone ever tried to fill all the pillars and hollow frame baars with stiffining foam? I started to think about htis when I was watchin BMI and I saw them workin on a GT class RSX, and they were using some sort of foam to stiffen the chasis as much as possible. Anyone know what they use?

>>did you bend the tube and weld it your self?!?

hell no lol... found a local cage builder to do it for me. pretty good for the $1500 range :-)

>>Seeing as you have this nice cage, you dont need the rear strut brace. Fancy selling it?

heheh, nope, gonna keep that one, and actually, I need it there, that was part of the cage build was to leave the strut bar and not weld a new bar in.

>>What's up with that broke-dick bend on the main hoop JK

hahah, lol.... we did that to give me helmet room.

>>How did you mount your fal window? I mounted mine like the stocker and it cracked in half. I hope my current one doesn't crack.

huh? u talking the rear hatch window? my front is stock glass.

>>Are those hatch props removable? Or are they hinged on the hatch?

HAHAHH omg toooo funny!!! those 'hatch props' are 2 parts to my car jack handle LOL the hatch has no proping mechanizm anymore, all that has been removed.

>>Have you had a chance to weigh your car with this new mod?

Supposedly the car is at: 2598 without driver

>>Damian keep up the good work! Your web sight needs new vids for me to whatch to.

hehe thanks,... and you will get soem very cool vids coming soon, now that the new season is a few weeks away.

>>great work....Oh and yeah why did you paint the inside black....won't it create more heat...

i was nly going to do the roll cage black, but the flat black looked so good i decided to do the entire inside for 2 main reasons:

1) it provides much better peripheral contrast so when i look out the windows I can see better, there is less internal cabin glare and reflection.

2) It look WAY better than the nasty yellow mess that was under the interior LOL

>>Is that dynomat for the interior? It looks like whatever it was you painted it on by hand and not sprayed it..

OMG dood, dynomat?? in a track car?? you crazy !!!! and yes it was hand painted by me :-) 2 coats of flat black.

>>If it is could you let us know how well it reduced road noise. When its raining outside and im driving i can hear the water hit the wheel wells. So annoying.I too run a stripped interior.

dood, you ARE crazy LOL....road noise!!! this has nothing even remotly close ot do with road noise....this is a serious track car, its so frikin loud inside that last thing you will hear is road noise or rain hitting the wheel wells...all you hear inside this car (even with a helm on) is BRRAHAHAHHHHHWWWWWWWW!!!

why did you strip the interior of you are worried about noise? stripping the interior is like the #1 way to make the car all loud inside.

>>Looks nice. I have a question though, has anyone ever tried to fill all the pillars and hollow frame baars with stiffining foam? I recently herd of this too, but its kinda out there for me to persue it, my chassy is already pretty friggin stiff, and the full cage just made it more stiff... so for me the resources are better put in places where I will see a bigger gain, like me learning how to drive :-)

yup, FAL from summit. with VIS CF hatch:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ight=fal+hatch

I mounted it using balck silicone sealant and also used like 5 or 6 bolt points around it for added safety/support. I dont want that thing coming off at the track!!!

Well, I had mine installed like a factory window. We used the window glue and stock weather stripping. Mine lasted about 3 months then it just cracked in half over night. They gave me a new one for free but still............ Not sure if you've had any problems or not.

wow, cracked in half...that sucks!!! :-(
mine has held up well, had to be careful drilling the holes for the bolts so it woudl not crack apart, but it has seen a full season of track now and is in great shape.

Damián, what kind of paint did you use for the flat black on the bar and the rest of the inside of the vehicle? Did you use a sponge brush? Also, just wondering why you left sound deadning mats on inside.
