2 months ago i found a red 94 PEP with 11,192 miles on it. talk about heaven. that thing liiked and smelled like new. it's by far the nicest interrior I have seen. Black and tan. All the bolts under the hood and all over were still at the factory torque setting. pretty cool!

i do like looking at my 7, but its more fun to drive .....fast. the people that sold it to me were a retired couple and didnt drive it over 1500 - 1800 miles a year. they were saving it for me 11 years later.

pics coming soon now that ive given them to someone who will definitely post them.

If it's mint, about ~$20K. At least in Cali.

Great cars guys.

a3dcadman, very nice and clean FD.

turbotuner.com-your silver FD is looking very good and your black one too. Have you decided on a rear for the silver? What exhaust is that?

Very nice and clean car Chuck!

I have not decided on a rear yet. Do you guys think it looks better without a spoiler? I'm starting to like that clean look more. The exhaust is the JIC Magic 505S.

Ya I dont like spoilers, and how often are you really getting up to the speed where you need it. On that note yes you really do need a spoiler at high spead, and you can beleive me or not when I tell you this. I was coming down the Tollway here in Dallas, and was trying to max out my car. It was 2-3am in the morning and at the speed of 170 give or take a few my front wheels where off the ground totally, I know this becuase I was turning the wheel back and fourth and the car it's self was not moving. I knew that is I lost control at that point I would be dead, becuase they have those nice concrete walls along that strech from 635 to beltline and that is where it happened to be. Try it if you want, I would not suggest if you dont have a spoiler, my car was not lowered at the time.

Move that front back to where it is supposed to go. It'll cost you at least 15-20hp blocking the air inlet. No kidding!

The car looks amazing! Nice find!

turbojeff not sure i follow you re: move the front back to where it belongs. are you talking about the license plate being in front of the opening. i have considered making a license plate bracket that pivots back with either air flow, a cable setup or perhaps an electrical solenoid device. anyway, please elaborate, ill certainly take any hp i can get.
thanks

First off great looking cars and totally impressive mileage. But my question is...WHY? I have never understood the purpose of buying a car to only drive it 1500-3000 miles a year. A car is a means of transportation not an investment. I know I will get flamed for this and probably rightly so but I just dont understand. I know most of you might have 2 or 3 or maybe 4 cars and thats awesome. But dont you just want to get out a drive the fd around sometimes.

My car has 127k on it and I get to enjoy the rotary every day. I drive it wherever I go. Sure there are times that I dont want to drive in it meaning the bumps and noises that they all have. But I have friends to cart me around then. I know you can get top dollar for those cars but you still would never get back what you spent on it. So I guess thats my point why not drive it more than 100 miles a month. If thats all you drive then its basically a grocery getter and thats not what these cars were built for.

Sorry to put this up. I truly love all of those cars I just dont get the 1500 miles a year for a car. Sorry again.

The stock plate bracket actually holds the plate in front of the front bumper not covering the opening.

The stock IC and intake breath through a duct that is almost directly behind that plate. The stock design actually allows hot engine compartment air to be sucked backwards through the duct at very low speed and at WOT, as speed increases this isn't a problem. With your plate covering the hole your losing the ram air effect for the IC and the intake.

I had a black 93 touring that came with the plate covering the opening and with a blown coolant seal motor. When I got the new motor in the car I just didn't think it was as fast as it should be. Both turbos were working fine, boost was there, it just didn't rip as good as I though it should. After a couple weeks I removed the plate, and instant HP was found. I was amazed at the difference.

Run the car through the gears a few times to get a feeling for what it is like, bring a screwdriver, take off the plate and run it through the gears again. I'll bet you notice a significant difference.

I wish I could do that but there are many envious people out there that do like to do harm to your car.

BTW If you don't mind, when was your engine rebuilt?

Finally! Somebody that has actually experienced problems with the front plate!

Main reason, why I don't want to put a front license plate on the car.

The FD is truly an awesome car, it is my high school dream car. The reason I don't want to drive it much is because I don't want to mess it up. Rock chips, parking lots accidents (dings and dents), paranoia that somebody will key my car, even worst steal it, engine blowing up, etc. I'm at ease just staring at it! The sumptous curves, the ergonomic jet fighter cockpit, the bubble roof, etc. LOL

I truly believe that a mint condition or pristine condition RX7 will be worth a lot several years from now, when all is left or high mileage cars. Look back at the muscle cars and check out Barret Jackson auctions. Nobody thought a $3-$4k GTO would be worth in the $100ks for the right model. The GTO convertibles go for $50k and up. Even crazier are Shelby GT500s! Though by the time the RX7 is worth that much I'll be old and retired! Maybe selling the RX7 in the future will be my retirement money. LOL

re: license plate
im going to pull my plate off and give it a try. washington state requires a front plate though and im not sure what kind of ticket one would get not running one.

re: driving the car or just looking at it.
presently i drive mine every day . when the weather gets really bad next fall or winter, i will be driving my nissan pathfinder. i am very careful about where i park and dont do stupid things that could put my vehicle in jeopard. although i have spun out hitting a few corners to hard, but i did recover because of the cars amazing handling capabilities.
