I think that the only way it will be functional is that if you take off the plastic piece that is attached to the hood behind the headlight so air can actually go through

What front bumper/skirts are those? Those are about the only "tasteful" skirts (in my humble opinion) that I've seen for an FD.

Paint looks great. I really don't think the vented headlight cover does much though.

Car looks great, and the cover adds a nice touch. IMO it would flow even better, for looks anyway, if the driver side had one too.

Hi fd3s777,

Where do you live in Taiwan? I am orginially from Taipei Taiwan. I have never seen a FD there, maybe we can meet up next time as I travel there 2-3 times a year on a business trip.

More picture about your FD would be nice (inside and out)

Functional or not its a good conmetic touch for a seven. One of the best I have seen for this section even if I prefer the standard headlights cover. Beautiful well kept car. Take careof her.

If you have a stock hood there is a piece of plastic behind the headlight which will block the air, you will have to take the piece off to make it functional

Get a new set from Mazda, they aren't very expensive and are still available new. They come primed, just take to a paint shop to have them paint it. I think they are like $80 each or something, very reasonable. Do both even if only one is broken.

RHDJapan.com has some decent vented covers but many don't fit well. Anything on Ebay is junk and will fit horribly, avoid that.

Note, those photos all show the flow path with the hood up, and if you have a factory hood there's a wind deflector underneath and behind the headlight that would block it when shut, you might want to remove or trim it.

Rare application, but just behind the headlights is where the remote canisters for my shocks are mounted, so cooling those wouldn't be a bad idea if you had the same.

Somewhere I still have my old Amemiya cover. I liked the look back in the day, but even removing the deflector I’m not sure how functional it was. And I didn’t run an open intake very long.
